Spellbinders DOM-JULY20┃Ornamental Floral Card Creator Inspiration Cards

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you these 2 “Decorative Floral” cards that, I’ve created using the just released JUL-2020 “Ornamental Floral Card Creator” Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓

To begin with, I started by running through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the frame die to die-cut it out 2X of Gold Cardstock. Then, I repeated the same step to die-cut the frame once again 2X out of White cardstock.

Therefore, after I had the die-cutting frames done I stacked the white frames over the gold, and I adhered them with liquid glue to an A2 white card panel on which, I had previously foiled a sentiment using one of the glimmer plates from the June’s Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the month.

So, after the frame was onto place, I inlaid some of the gold negative pieces in the bottom and top parts of the frame, and I set the card panel aside.

Moving along, I ran through the die-cut machine the Large and Small decorative floral corners included in the set to die-cut the outlined frames out of white cardstock, and to die-cut them once again out of a Pink and Green hue that I had previously created by water-coloring over a large piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper.

So, after I was done die-cutting the decorative corners, I adhered them with liquid glue on the top side of the card panel, and right after that I went ahead to continue inlaying the pink and green die-cutting pieces to create a paper piecing look making that way the flowers and leaves to stand out from the outlined frames. Lastly, after I was done inlaying the flowers and leaves, I adhered the small flowers which by the way I had also die-cut it out of the pink watercolor panel, and to finish the card off I adhered the card panel with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base, and last but certainly not least, I glued down with liquid glue here and there gold jewels to balance the gold from the frame out.

For the second card, instead of using the frame, I only used the floral corners however, I lined up the second-to-last die from the Elegant Twisted Etched Rectangle Die Set over a large piece of glitter cardstock and I ran them through the die-cutting machine. This step was just to add a little extra detail to the edge of the frame.

So, after I was done adding the details to the first panel, I lined up the same die over a pink water-colored panel that I had previously water-colored and foiled and I ran them through the die-cutting machine. So, after I had die cut both frames, I offset the pink a bit to the right and I’ve got both adhered with double-sided tape to an A2 side folding white card base.

Lastly, as I mentioned early I use only the floral corners to create my own frame so, I went ahead and I glue with liquid glue 4 floral corners, but only the outlined frames as, I wanted to keep it simple by only inlaying the center of the flowers with glittery gold cardstock. Finally, to finish the card off I glued down with liquid glue here and there gold jewels to complement the gold from the foiled sentiment.

As finishing touches, I decided to die cut 6 more flowers so, as you can see in the images above after I had them die-cut out of white and pink, I glue the center of each of them to the ones that I had previously adhere to the cards, and I curled the edges up to create dimension on each of the cards.
