Layered Poinsettias┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you my first set of “Holiday” inspiration cards made using; Poinsettia Panel Die, Nesting Stitched Ovals Die, Cozy Holiday Sentiments and Layered Poinsettia Die from the latest Christmas in July release by Waffle Flower. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓

Therefore, I started off by lining up the newest Poinsettia Panel Die over an A2 size white card panel, and then once I had them both line up I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die-cut the card panel. Next, I repeated the same step to die-cut a second white card panel and a gold panel as well, because I was thinking about creating dimension and a slightly gold shadow once I’ve had got them all layered up.

Thus, as soon as I had finished die-cutting them all out of the cardstock, I went ahead to layer them all up creating the gold shadow as I previously mentioned and then, I went ahead to adhere the backing of it to an A2 size top folding white card base adding that way, dimension between the card base and font card panel.

Moving on, after I’ve had finished creating the card base along with its front panel, I went ahead to set it off aside while I started the die-cutting process for the layered poinsettias. So, to do that, I went ahead to line up each die from Layered Poinsettia Die set over a large piece of Barely Peach Cardstock and then, I ran them through the die-cut machine to die-cut each layer of it. Next, I repeated the same step to die-cut 2 more times each layer, and as soon as I had finished doing that, I went ahead to stack each layer up using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to create 3 extra dimensional and cute poinsettias (as you can see them in the image above.)

Having that said, I went ahead to mount each poinsettia over the card base (as shown in the image above) and then, I added pieces of DMC Metallic Thread here and there to add an extra metallic accent. Therefore, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down some Metallic Pearls -Gold to each poinsettia and then, I’ve got it mounted the card sentiment with craft foam adhesive to add extra dimension. A sentiment, which I’ve had previously stamp and gold heat embossing on a piece of white cardstock using one of the sentiments from Cozy Holiday Sentiments stamp set.

For the second example, I created a poinsettia wreath using the negative die-cutting pieces from the previous example, so to do that, I went ahead to line up the largest die from Nesting Stitched Ovals Die set over a, A2 size white card panel and then, I ran them through the die-cut machine to die-cut it out from the cardstock and to add the stitched detail to it.

Therefore, this awesome die not only die-cut the inner and outer ovals to the card panel, but also adds up an outer and inner stitched detail to them, so I went ahead to mount the outer detailed frame with craft foam adhesives over and A2 size barely peach color cardstock and then, I went ahead to adhere the backing of the layered front card panel to an A2 size side folding white card base on a landscaping form.

Moving on, after having the card base completed, I went ahead to create an oval rim for the wreath, so to do that, I lined up over a white card panel third-to-last stitched oval die from the same set and then, I ran them through the die-cut machine to create a die-cutting oval and use it as a guide for the oval poinsettia wreath. As, for the poinsettias wreath, I layered some of them whites over white while others white over gold to create a contrast (as you can see in the image above.)

Lastly, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down some gold jewels to the center of each poinsettia and then, I decided to add a tied bow, which I’ve had previously created out of a piece from the same metallic thread that used in the previous example. Then, last but not least, I decided to stamp, and gold heat emboss the card sentiment inside the poinsettias wreath using one of the sentiment from the same stamp set that I used as well in the previous example.
