Floral & Glimmering Frame┃Inspiration Card

Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you an extra glimmering “Floral & Framed” inspiration card made using: Spark of Goodness Cling Stamp, Spark of Goodness Die, and Spark of Goodness Layering Stencils from the latest February-2022 Stamp, Dies, Stencil & Hot Foil Release. by Pinkfresh Studio. Along with this set, I used the leftover die-cutting pieces from the card panel created using Hearts and Stars Cover Plate Die which I used I n a previous project, to use them as my shaker buts. Also, Chrysanthemum Slimline Stamp for the card sentiments and last but not least, PFS- Inks for the layered stenciling. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, I started off by making the hot foil stamping for the geometric and glimmering card background, so to do that, I went ahead to line up the Geo Tiles Hot Foil over my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform. A platform, which I had already on and ready to foil. Next, I proceeded to get the hot foil stamping done over a large piece of white cardstock using my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine along with a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass.

Although, I loved the dainty look from the standard hot foil or original look from the hot foil stamped image from this hot plate, I decided to use put it off to the side and do the reverse hot foil stamping using the leftover foil along with a piece of white cardstock and the Solid Hot Foil Plate for a bolder glimmering look. That said, after getting the foil stamping process done, I went ahead to put it off to the side and then, I started off the stamping for the floral frame using Spark of Goodness Cling Stamp.

Thus, for the stamping process, I went ahead to place a white card panel inside my MISTI Mini Stamp Tool and then, I proceeded to place over it the stamp image to get it stamped twice with embossing ink and then, right after I’ve had finished doing that, I proceeded to get the gold heat embossing over the stamped image using gold embossing powder. By the way, I’d like to mention that this stamp set includes some pop out images which you can get them stamped along with the large image or get them remove from it to just get the floral frame stamped just like I did for this example.

Having that said, right after that I got the heat embossing process completed, I went ahead to place the card panel over my Magnetic Surface Board to get the layered stenciling done over it. Therefore, for the stenciling process, I used each stencil included in Spark of Goodness Layering Stencils along with some standard size ink blending brushes + some of Mini Ink Blending Brushes to add depth and small details to the inking. Also, a combination of the following hues: Ballet Slipper Ink, Coral Reef Ink, Peach Fuzz Ink, and Apricot Ink for the flowers and buds. Plus, Olive Ink and Evergreen Ink for the greenery.

Moving on, right after that I’ve had finished inking it up the floral frame, I’ve gone ahead to line up over it its coordinating dies, which it’s Spark of Goodness Die and then, I ran them through the die cut machine to cut out the center of the floral frame. So, as soon as I’ve had finished the die-cutting process, I’ve gone ahead to trim off 1/4 of an each from each side of the card panel and then, I placed it facing down over my craft mat to get a piece of Glimmer Specialty Clear Film adhered to the backing of it with double-sided adhesive, to not only use it as the shaker window but to get one of the card sentiments stamped and heat embossing over it as well.

So, for the card sentiments I used the stamp images included in Chrysanthemum Slimline Stamp. As you can see in the image above, I used one of the larger sentiment to get it stamped and heat embossing over the shaker window while, I used one of the smaller to get it stamped and gold heat embossing over a piece of white cardstock in a strip form. Lastly, after getting the stamping and heat embossing process done for the card sentiments, I went ahead to add an easel effect to an A2 pre-made top folding white card base. As, for the easel effect all I did was to trace a scoring line at 2-3/4” inches over the front flap. As always to add the scoring lines, I used my Scoring Board and the standard Teflon bone folder included in Craft Treat Teflon Bone Folder set.

Thus, for the card assembling, I went ahead to get trim off 1/4 of an each from each side of the hot foil stamped panel and then, I added a combination of the leftover hearts and stars that I had in my stash from the die-cutting panel that I’ve had previously cut out from white cardstock using Hearts and Stars Cover Plate Die. Also, along with those tiny hearts and stars, I added a combination of gold foil leaves flakes and some crushed gold glass to add an extra glimmering touch to it as well. By the way, I used Crushed Glass with Gold Foil Leaf Flakes set to add the foil flakes and crushed glass to it. Having that said, after adding the shaker elements over the hot foil stamped panel, I went ahead to get the backing of the floral frame mounted over it using craft foam adhesive not only to add dimension but for the shaker elements to have space to move in the center of the frame.

Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down the lower part of the shaker frame over the lower part of the front flap of the card. Then, I pulled it up to the back to add the easel effect in the inner lower side of the card using the small sentiment and craft foam adhesive to add dimension to it as well.
