WOW! October-2020 Sparkles & Shine Challenge┃ Hi Inspiration Cards

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today, I’d like to share a set of textured “Hi” inspiration cards that I’ve made for “OCT-2020 “Sparkles & Shine” challenge theme over WOW! Embossing Powders Facebook Page using WOW! It Changers - Lightening Effects Kit and WOW! Glass Slipper Sparkles Glitter. With that being said, I also would like to invite you to come and play along with us for a chance to win a $15.00 or ₤15.00 gift card to WOW! US or WOW! UK online stores. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓

To begin with, I started by creating the textured card panel so therefore to do that, I’ve added lot of Wallboard Joint Compound over a Strathmore Watercolor Paper (panel). Thus, after I’ve had finished adding the paste over the card panel, I’ve gone ahead to create lines and texture using a Palette Knife. Once, I’ve had created the texture, I’ve gone ahead to sprinkle lot of WOW! Glass Slipper Sparkles Glitter and WOW! Texture Powder from WOW! It Changers - Lightening Effects Kit to add not only texture but also lot of shine.

Next, after I’ve finished adding the texture and shine to the card panel, I’ve gone ahead to set it aside to dry. Meanwhile, I’ve gone ahead to line up the Hi Die over one of the patterned papers from the Color Crush Patterns Pad and once I’ve had them line up, I’ve gone ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Therefore, after I’ve finished die-cutting the hi out of the patterned paper, I’ve gone ahead to create a second cut but, this time out of gold cardstock.

Lastly, after I’ve finished the gold die-cutting, I’ve gone ahead to remove the outlined die-cutting and I’ve started the assembling for the card. Thus, I’ve gone ahead to trim off the edges from the textured card panel to 4-1/4’’ X 4-1/4’’ inches and then, I’ve gone ahead to get the backing of it adhere with double-sided tape to a same size square white card base. Next, I’ve removed the positive letters from the patterned die-cutting and I’ve gone ahead to adhere a piece of acetate to it. Last but not least, I’ve glued down the outline gold die-cutting with liquid glue over the acetate and I’ve added pieces of craft foam tape to the back of the card panel to raise the level of the card panel creating that way a bit of dimension. Finally, I’ve added Crystal Confetti to the card panel and then, I’ve finished the card by mounting the card panel creating that way a shaker Hi card.

I’ve created a second example using leftover pieces from the first example on today’s blog post along with previous projects. Therefore, I’ve created a second textured card panel in the same way as I did for the previous example but this time on a full A2 size.

Moving on, after I’ve had created the textured card panel and it was completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges off from it and I’ve adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 side folding white card base.

Next, I’ve assembled the shaker card panel over the card base using a card panel that I’ve had previously created from a previous project using Leaflet Die and once again Crystal Confetti to fill the shaker window.

Last but not least, I’ve stacked the die-cutting letters from the previous card a bit offset leaving a little gold shadow and then, I’ve gone ahead to mount them to the card using craft foam tape (as shown in the image above.)

Finally, to finish both cards off, I’ve gone ahead to glue down with liquid glue to each card in the same way a small leaf cluster along with a dimensional flower which I’ve had created using the small dies from Leaflet Die. Then, as a finishing touch, I’ve gone ahead to glue down a jewel in the center of each flower to add a touch of sparkle.
