Spellbinders Spring Into Stitching Collection┃Inspiration Card

Happy Thursday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a hand-stitched “Birthday” inspiration card showcasing the Stitched Medallion Etched Dies from the latest Spring Into Stitching Collection by Spellbinders. Along with this stitched die, I’ve used Butterfly Sentiments Clear Stamp Set as well for the card sentiment. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓

Therefore, I started off by lining up over a large piece of white cardstock the outer and the insert die included in Stitched Medallion Etched Dies and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to cut the medallion out. Next, I repeated this step one more time to get a second medallion cut from the same plain white cardstock to layer them over to make it sturdier.

Then, as soon as, I’ve had finished die-cutting and get the medallions layered, I went ahead to use an embroidery needle along with some embroidery thread in Peachy-Pink - Orangy hues if you will, to get the hand-stitching started.

As for the hand-stitching, all I did was to follow the stitching guide lines create from the die and then, as soon as, I’ve had finished getting the hand-stitching done, I went ahead to put the stitched medallion off to the side.

Meanwhile, I went ahead to add texture to an A2 size white card panel using the insert die from the set, so what I did was to place line up the insert first, right in the middle of the panel and then, I went ahead to run them through the die-cut machine. Next, I went ahead to create a pattern over the card panel using the same die by lining it up on each corner then by running them through the die cut machine. Having that said, to complete the pattern, I carefully went ahead to line up the point of the die in the center card panel to add the die-cutting touch to the bottom and top centers for a completed design. I’d like to recommend a use of your Tool ‘n One or any sort of tool to remove the tiny paper pieces and a Metal Cutting Plate to add a little extra pressure to the die-cutting process.

Having that said, as soon as I’ve had finished adding the stitched texture to the card panel, I went ahead to trim of 1/4 of an inch from it using my Paper Trimmer and then, I’ve got glued down its backing to an A2 size top folding white card base. Next, I used the outer die for the medallion to cut out its base from Gold Foil Cardstock and then, once I had that done, I proceeded to glue layer over it the hand-stitched medallion. Lastly, I went ahead to glue down the medallion in the center of the card and, to finish the card off, I went ahead to get the card sentiment mounted over the medallion. A card sentiment, which I’ve had previously stamped over a piece of white cardstock with VersaMark Ink using one of the sentiments from Butterfly Sentiments Clear Stamp Set and then, gold heat embossed using Metallic Embossing Powder- Gilded and Wow Embossing Powder Dual Speed Heat Tool. Also, layered over to a tiny, larger piece of the same gold foil cardstock that I used for the medallion.

Finally, as a finishing touch, I went ahead to glue down some jewels with the same hues (as shown in the image above) just, to add an extra touch of sparkle to the card. And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this hand-stitched “Birthday” inspiration card showcasing the Stitched Medallion Etched Dies from the latest Spring Into Stitching Collection by Spellbinders.
