Spellbinders Open Road Collection┃Inspiration Card

Happy Friday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very sweet and airy “Encouragement” inspiration card showcasing the latest Open Road Collection by Spellbinders which includes: Open Road Sentiments Clear Stamp Set, Open Road Etched Dies, On Cloud Nine Etched Dies, and Head in the Clouds Embossing Folder. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓

Therefore, I started off by lining up over a large piece of White cardstock the die included in Open Road Etched Dies and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to cut the car body. Next, I repeated the same step one more time to cut out the car body from Holographic cardstock. Then, as soon as, I’ve had finished cutting them out, I went ahead to cut out the small pieces from Gold cardstock except for the wheels and tires as, I went ahead to cut out the wheels out from Holographic cardstock to give them a shiny look.

As for the car tires, I went ahead to use the circle stamp image included in Open Road Sentiments Clear Stamp Set to get the circle stamp image stamped two times over a piece of White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Ink. And, as soon as, I’ve had finished stamping both tires over the White cardstock piece, I’ve gone ahead to use the die included in Open Road Etched Dies to cut them out from the cardstock. Thus, to keep going with the die-cutting process, I went ahead to use each die included in On Cloud Nine Etched Dies to cut a few clouds out from White cardstock as well.

Next, after getting all die-cutting pieces completed, I went ahead to add the cloudy texture to an A2 size white card panel using Head in the Clouds Embossing Folder. Moving on, after adding the texture to the card panel, I went ahead to add a very subtle pop of color to it by using an ink blending brush along with Aqua Sky Ink. Then, while I left the inking dry out over the card panel, I went ahead to ink up the car body using another ink blending brush along with a combination of Ballet Slipper and Honeysuckle Inks. By the way inks used on today’s project are from Concord & 9TH.

Thus, after adding the pop of color to the car, I went ahead to put it off to the side to let the inking dry out. Meanwhile, I went ahead to trim off 1/4 of an inch from the inked and textured card panel using my Paper Trimmer and then, I’ve got adhered its backing with double-sided adhesive to and A2 top folding white card base. Next, I went ahead to get the car assembling using their decorative pieces. Pieces which, I’ve had previously cut out from gold and holographic cardstock. As, you can see in the image above, I’ve got replaced the skinny die-cutting pieces from the car body to add an extra touch of shine to it.

Having that said, as soon as I’ve had finished getting the car assembling, I went ahead to get a piece of warm gray cardstock adhered to the bottom part of the card and then, I’ve got the car mounted over it using square foam adhesives to add dimension to it. By the way, the colored cardstock piece measures H 3/4” x W 4.0” inches.

Right after that I’ve got the car mounted over the card, I’ve gone ahead to get the clouds mounted as well over the upper side of the card using, a combination of liquid glue and square foam adhesives to add some dimension to them. At this point, I thought about just getting the clouds mounted to the card but then, I decided to use the balloon dies to cut out some balloons from white cardstock to compliment the card sentiment.

As for the card sentiment, I went ahead to use my MISTI Mini Stamp Tool to get the YAY! stamping done over the white die-cutting balloons using the stamp images included in the stamp set along with a combination of the hues that I used for the inking + VersaMark Ink, Metallic Embossing Powder- Gilded, and Wow Embossing Powder Dual Speed Heat Tool too, to get the sentiment gold heat embossed over one of the clouds.

Finally, as a finishing touches, I used pieces of DMC Diamant Metallic Gold Thread for the balloons strings and my Jewels Picker to glue down here and there with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue some of the Rhinestones Sunlight Gold to add an extra touch of sparkle to the card.
