Spellbinders Spring Into Glimmer Collection┃Butterfly & Floral Inspiration Cards

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a layered and extra dimensional “Butterfly & Floral” inspiration cards made showcasing Spring Into Glimmer Collection by Spellbinders which includes: Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set which, I didn’t use on today’s cards as, I used Garden Favorites Sentiments Clear Stamp Set instead to only let the flowers and butterflies pop. Also, Glimmer Edge Butterflies Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and Glimmer Edge Flowers Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. Along with this collection, I used Precision Layering A2 A Etched Dies and Precision Layering A2 B Etched Dies + Precision Layering Mini Slimline A Etched Dies and Precision Layering Mini Slimline B Etched Dies for the layered front card panels look. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓

I started off by setting up my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine over my Crafter's Essential Cutting and Alignment Mat. And, once I had that step completed, I went ahead to turn on the glimmer hot foil platform as, I usually do every time I do hot foil stamping. In the meantime, while my platform was heating up, I went ahead to line up over a large piece of white cardstock the butterfly glimmer plates including in Glimmer Edge Butterflies Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and then, I proceeded to cut out a few pieces from Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Prism and to place them down underneath each glimmer plate.

Thus, as soon as the platform was ready to foil, I went ahead to get the hot foil stamping done over the cardstock and then, I repeated the same step a few times to get as may butterflies as I was going to use to make this card.

Then, as soon as, I’ve had finished the hot foil stamping for all butterflies. I’ve gone ahead to line up over each of them their coordinating dies and then, I proceeded to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to cut them out from the cardstock. Next, after finishing the die-cutting process, I went ahead to layer them up to add dimension to them. For the layering, I used the positive and negative pieces besides that, I used holographic cardstock to cut out their bodies to compliment the foil color.

Having that said, for the front card layering, I used a combination of Precision Layering A2 A Etched Dies and Precision Layering A2 B Etched Dies along with colored cardstock in teal and turquoise hues for a gradient look. Also, to add 1/8 of an inch frame and a holographic accent. So, I went ahead to get layer each panel up using craft foam adhesive add extra dimension and then, I adhered the backing of the layered panel over an A2 side folding white cards base. Then, I went ahead to adhere over them a white card panel as well.

Lastly, I went ahead to mount the butterflies over the white card panel and then, I added a floral touch using the dies including in Glimmer Edge Flowers Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. For the floral touches, I used pink and green hues + a touch of gold to add a gold shadow to the flowers. Besides that, to finish the card off, I used one of the sentiment including in Garden Favorites Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. A sentiment which, I had gotten stamped and gold heat embossing over a strip of white cardstock and right afterwards mounted in the lower right side of the card with craft foam adhesive to add dimension to it.

For the second example, I made a mini slimline card with a floral look using Glimmer Edge Flowers Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.

As for the hot foil stamping, I used Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Aura and for the layered card panel, I used Precision Layering Mini Slimline A Etched Dies and Precision Layering Mini Slimline B Etched Dies along with white and gold cardstock.

Thus, the front card panel layering was pretty much the same as the first example with the only difference that this it’s a slimline size card other than that, I added gold splattering to the top white card panel layer.

Lastly, I went ahead to create a dimensional floral cluster using the die-cutting foil stamped images and the rest of die-cutting pieces and then, I’ve got it mounted over the left side of the card.

Then, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add the card sentiment over the right side of the card. A sentiment which I had stamped and gold heat embossing on a piece of white cardstock using one the sentiments including in the same stamp set that I used in the previous example.

Last but certainly not least, I went ahead to glue down here and there some jewels to each of the cards to add an extra pop of shine to them. And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this layered and extra dimensional set of “Butterfly & Floral” inspiration cards showcasing: Spring Into Glimmer Collection by Spellbinders.
