Spellbinders Oh What Fun! Collection┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Friday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a fun set of holiday inspiration cards made with a “Fun & Interactive” effect showcasing the latest Oh What Fun! Collection by Spellbinders. Which includes: Christmas Delivery Printed Die Cuts and Gnomie Christmas Dance Printed Die Cuts however, for today’s cards, I will be using only one of the sets along with Dimensional Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder and Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing Folder. So, without further ado let’s jump right in to the step-by-step for how I made them ↓

The Christmas Delivery Printed Die Cuts contains 53 colorful die cut pieces with designs that include: ribbon banners of holiday sentiments, ornaments, package bundles, Christmas trees, gift givers and tops and bottoms of the gift givers to create movement. Therefore, for the first example, I went ahead to select 3 of the solid gift givers and then, I put them off to the side. Thus, after putting those aside, I went ahead to use the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine along with Universal Plate System (P6 Accessory Bundle and Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to an A2 size white card panel.

Next, as soon as, I had finished adding the texture to the card panel, I went ahead to use my Paper Trimmer to trim off 1/4 of an inch from each side of it and then, I proceeded to get the backing of it adhered with double-sided adhesive to an A2 size top folding white card base. Then, after getting the textured panel adhered to the card base, I proceeded to glue down with liquid glue the gift givers on each side of the front card panel and then, I got the backing of the one in the middle mounted with craft foam adhesive to rise dimension to it. Once, I had gotten that step done, I went ahead to add a metallic accent to one the gift giver holding the ornament so, to do that, I added a tied bow using a piece of DMC Diamant Metallic Gold Thread. And, then I got the card finish off by mounting with craft foam adhesive one of the banners to use it as the card sentiment.

Moving on, for the second example, I added all the fun by selecting some of the die cut shapes that create movement on the gift giver legs. Therefore, I went ahead to add texture to another A2 size white card panel using Dimensional Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I trimmed down 1/4 of an inch from each side and then, I got the backing of it adhered with double-sided adhesive to an A2 size top folding white card base.

Then, as soon as, I had finished getting the card panel adhered to its base, I kept it simple by following the first card design so, that being said, I went ahead to determinate the placement for the bodies and legs. Then, I used circle foam adhesives in the opening area on the legs to attach them to the body. So, on and so forth, I repeated the same step for the other two gift givers.

Once, I had all of them attached, I proceeded to get them mounted over the front card panel using square foam adhesives to raise even more dimension to let the legs have the full fun and interaction sliding from side to side. Lastly, to finish the card off, I went ahead to select another banner to use it as the card sentiment.

And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this fun set of holiday inspiration cards with a “Fun & Interactive” effect showcasing the latest Oh What Fun!
