Spellbinders March20 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit ∣ Inspiration Cards

Happy Sunday, friends! It’s time to share these clean and simple, yet shiny Easter card and matching tag that, I’ve created with the new; March-20 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month Club called “Eggstra Special” by Spellbinders. So, without further ado, let’s jump to the step by step on how to make them ↓

To begin with, I started by turning on my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform. While the platform was heating up, I set on my desk my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to have it ready once I started the foiling process. By the way, the set from this month’s kit comes with 3 different plates which have 3 different designs. So therefore, once the platform was ready to foil, I foiled multiple times the plates with Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold on Strathmore 300 Series Smooth Bristol Paper because, I was going to do a subtle water-coloring on the die-cutting eggs.

So, right after when the eggs were foiled, I placed over them the 3 different size dies that comes along with the kit, and I ran them through the die-cutting machine to die-cut the eggs out of the cardstock. Once, all die-cutting eggs were done, I quickly did a subtle water-coloring over some of the eggs using my Mermaid Markers ArtEssentials. Thus, while the water-coloring was drying, I created the card panel for the card.

To create the card panel first; I placed over the Glimmer Hot Foil Platform the largest plate from the Gilded Nested Rectangle Glimmer Set Glimmer Hot Foil Plate The Gilded Age by Becca Feeken. Second; I placed over the plate a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Skybright which is included in the kit. Third; I placed over the foil an A2 size white card panel, and last but not least I proceeded to foil the card panel. Once the card panel, was foiled I ran it through the die-cutting machine along with the largest die from the Gilded Nested Rectangle Die Set Etched Dies The Gilded Age by Becca Feeken to die-cut the frame out of the white card panel. Lastly, when the frame was die-cut it out from the card panel, I foam mounted it to an A2 side folding white card panel. To add more dimension, I also foam mounted an oval which I had die-cut out of white cardstock using the 7th and 8th-to-last dies from the Nestabilities Essential Ovals Etched Dies. Finally, to finish the card off, I glued down with liquid glue the eggs from the right and left then, I foam mounted the one in the middle. To add dimension, I double-foam mounted the mint and pink eggs that I had previously water-colored and last but not least, I triple-foam mounted the little egg in the middle you can imagine how dimensional this card is but, believe or not still fits inside of an A2 standard size envelope. Because, we’re getting to Easter, I foam mounted the Happy Easter sentiment that I had previously foiled with gold foil on a piece of white cardstock. I would like to mention that this kit also has a label die as well as 5 plates that says Easter, Happy, Hello, Spring, Wishes so you can play along using them in many ways. With that being said this card was completed.

To create the matching tag, I started by running through the die-cutting machine 2 piece of white cardstock along with the second-to-last die from the Gilded Nested Rectangle Die Set Etched Dies The Gilded Age by Becca Feeken. Right after when both die-cutting pieces were done, I placed one of them on my scoring board and I marked a line at the 1/4’’ in mark point to create a hinge. Once, the hinge was created, I added skinny double-sided tape to it, and I set it aside.

In the meantime while I was doing that, I was also foiling the other die-cutting piece using the second-to-last plate from the Gilded Nested Rectangle Glimmer Set Glimmer Hot Foil Plate The Gilded Age by Becca Feeken along with the foil included in the kit. Once, the foil was done, I peeled off the double-sided tape and I adhered the foiled die-cutting piece to it creating that way the Tag or a little Note card. Finally, to finish the card off, I glued down with liquid glue the largest egg and I foam mounted the smaller egg to the tag along with the Happy Easter sentiment which I had previously foiled with gold on a piece of white cardstock. As a finishing touch, I adhered on the top left corner a bow which, I had previously Gold heat embossed and fussy cut it out of white cardstock. As for the embellishments, I adhered a few gold jewels here and there to the eggs for an extra touch of shine.

In the image above taken in a different angle, you can see what I meant by saying that the tag can be a note card as, you can easily put it inside of a 4’’x 2 3/4’’ envelope and gift it as is, or you can pop it on a gift as you have seen before on previous examples.
