Spellbinders MAR-2020 Cardkit of the Month Kit┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Sunday, friends! Today, I’d like to share with you these 2 clean & simple yet, pretty Butterfly Cards that, I’ve created with the Die Cut Shapes and Patterned Paper Pad included in the; March-2020 “Feeling Hoppy” Cardkit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado, let’s jump to the step by step on how to make them ↓

To begin with, I started by selecting all die cut shapes that I was going to use for both cards along with a patterned paper sheet from the paper pad.

Next, I trimmed down the patterned paper sheet along with a large piece of white cardstock to the following measurements; H 5.0’’x W 3-3/4’’ Once, both panels were trimmed down, I adhered the backing of the patterned paper with double-sided tape to the white card panel for a sturdy surface as, I wanted to add dimension to the card panel by adhering the backing of it with foam mounting tape to the card base.

Right after, I’ve mounting the card panel to one of the white card bases included in the kit, I set the card base aside. Meanwhile, I ran through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the frame from the die included in the cardkit to die-cut it out from white cardstock. So therefore, after I had the frame die-cutting done, I adhered it with liquid glue to the card panel. Lastly, I adhered with liquid glue the flower bouquet followed by the largest butterfly which, I also adhered with liquid glue. As, for the second butterfly, I curled up the wings, and I adhered the center of the butterfly with liquid glue and the wings with foam square adhesives on top of the first butterfly for a 3-D look. Finally, to finish the card off, I adhered with foam square adhesives 2 stickers to create the sentiment for the card, and as a finishing touch I adhered some Gemstones for an extra touch of shine.

To create the second Butterfly card first; I cut in half one of the white card bases because, I wanted to use one of the half pieces as the card panel for this card inasmuch as, I really like the texture from the cardstock.

So therefore, I trimmed down the edges from the card panel slightly smaller than the card base as usual, and I mounted the card panel with fun foam to one of the white card bases included in the kit. To add a pop of color, I adhered with double-sided tape the piece of patterned paper that I’ve leftover from the previous card on the left side of the card panel.

Lastly, I created 2 dimensional butterflies just in the same way as I did for the first card, and I glued them down with liquid glue (as shown above) as for the centers instead of gemstones, I adhered with foam square adhesive 2 circles die cut shapes, and to add an extra something, I glued down with liquid glue under the butterflies 2 greenery die cut shapes as well as the circle shape which I foam mounted on the opposite side of the butterflies. Finally, to complement the sentiment from the sticker, I gold heat embossed with Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder the “have a” sentiment from the stamp set included in the kit. Last but not least, as a finishing touch I also adhered some of the gemstones for an extra touch of sparkle.
