With that being said, today I’d like to share with you these 2-Floral/Colorful Hello & Happy Birthday cards that, I’ve created showcasing the just released and very essential Slim Edgers Die Set. Besides that, I’ll be listing the supply list of what I used to create the cards along with all details on how to win prizes and how to save on shipping. So, without further ado let’s jump into the blog post ↓

Yasmin-Diaz-March-2020-Essentials-Slim-Cut-Release-1.jpg

To begin with, I started by trimming down 6 card panels from different color cardstock to W 3-3/4’’x H 8-1/2’’ once I had them trimmed down, I lined up on the right edge one of the dies from the Slim Edgers Die Set, and I ran the card panel along with the die through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to create the detailed stitched edge. Right after having the first die-cutting card panel, I repeated so on and so forth the same step for the next 5 card panels.

So therefore, after having all 6 card panels done, I stacked them all with double-side tape however, I left a 1/4 of an inch in between them. By doing that, I also was following the dimension for the card panel on the bottom that means that, I was trimming down the excess from the card panel on top that’s why I ended up with a very slim card panel after creating a rainbow card panel if you will.

Lastly, after creating the rainbow and detailed card panel, I white heat embossed a sentiment on the bottom part of the card panel and I mounted with liquid glue and square adhesives a floral cluster that, I’ve had previously created with a die cut shape from the My Favorite Story Floral Ephemera + greenery die-cutting pieces which, I created using dies from the Dainty Blossoms Die Set to die-cut them out of white cardstock. Finally, to finish the card off, I mounted the backing to the card panel with double-sided tape to an A9 size white card base, and I glued down here and there some jewels from the Essentials: Jewel Mix.
NOTE: Here are the precise measurements for a card base without having the extra frame around you card as these dies are designed to perfectly fit on a card base with the following dimensions; W3-5/8 x H 8-5/8 in.

For the second example, I used another die out of the 4 dies included in the set to create the outer detail for the card panel. As for the White and Hot Pink card panels on this card, I used the same dimensions that I used for the previous card panel in the first example. So therefore, I lined up the die on the edge of the Hot Pink card panel and I ran it through the die-cutting machine then, I flipped it over and I lined up on the other edge. Because, these dies are designed to only cut the edge it is easy to line them up a bit inwards to create a border in between just like I did for this example.

Lastly, after having both card panels I gold heat embossed a sentiment on the white card panel then, I adhered the backing of the white card panel with double-sided tape to the Hot Pink. Right after that, I mounted the layered card panel with foam mounting tape to an A9 card white card base along with a second floral cluster that I’ve had created in the same way as I did for the first example with the only difference that instead of white greenery, I used color cardstock for an extra pop of color. Finally, as a finishing touch I glued down here and there some jewels for a touch of shine. By the way, I’d like to mention that both sentiments used on today’s cards are from the Scripted Bold Sentiments 2 stamp set.
