Spellbinders/FSJ-APR2020 Stamp┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Sunday, Crafters! Today, I’d like to share with you these 2 “Beautiful” cards that, I’ve created with the APR-2020 “Bold Beautiful” Stamp of the Month Club by FSJ/Spellbinders. So, without further ado, let’s jump to the step by step on how I made them ↓

So, to make these cards, I started by inking up 2-A2 card panels that I created out of my Strathmore 300 Series Smooth Bristol Paper. For the ink blending I used the following Distress Oxide Ink Pads; Forest Moss, Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive. Right after the ink blending, I let the card panels aside to let the inks dry.

Meanwhile, I create the sentiment for the first card so, to do that I placed inside my stamping tool a large piece of white cardstock, and I added lots of Embossing Powder Tool. Next, I stampeded with Embossing Ink not only the sentiment, but also the frame which is also included in the stamp set. Right after that, I covered the stamping with Metallic Gold Rich and I heat set the powder until was completely melted. Then after the heat embossing, I trimmed the edges down from the frame with my paper trimmer, and I mounted the frame with craft foam and double-sided tape to a larger panel that I previously created out of gold cardstock. I took this extra step to add a touch gold to the framed sentiment.

By the time that I was done with the framed sentiment my ink blended card panels were completely dry so, I placed one of the card panels over a large piece of thick craft foam because, I was going to stamp 3 different greenery stamp images from the stamp set using an acrylic block. So, I stampeded the images a few times with embossing ink on the bottom and top sides of the card panel, then on the right and left side creating that way the greenery pattern. As for the heat embossing at first, I thought about adding white embossing powder, but I ended up adding gold embossing powder for a metallic look. Lastly, to add dimension, I reactivated the oxidized effect from the ink by adding a few droplets of water, and to add more dimension, I also sprayed the card panel with Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz Spray for an extra touch of shimmering. Finally, to finish the card off, I trimmed the edges down from the card panel, and I adhered it down with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base followed by the dimensional framed sentiment and a few Jewels Gold Mix which I glued down here and there with liquid glue.

Moving on, for the second card I created a wreath if you will so, to begin with I started by running through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the second-to-last circle die from my Nestabilities Standard Circles LG Etched Dies to die-cut a circle out of the second inked card panel. Once, I had the circle die-cutting done, I placed it inside of my stamping tool, and I stampeded with embossing ink the “Beautiful” in the center of the circle. Then after the stamping, I gold heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. Therefore, after the heat embossing, I set the heat embossed circle aside and I started to create the wreath for the card panel.

To create the wreath, I used the negative of the inked card panel to draw a circle in the center of an A2 size white card panel. Once, the circle was drawn, I added embossing powder tool to the card panel, and I carefully stampeded around of the circle with the help of an acrylic block 4 different stamp images from the set. As you can see after stamping them with embossing ink, I covered the embossing with gold heat embossing powder and I heat set the entire card panel with my heat gun tool.

Right after, I was done heat embossing the card panel, I trimmed the edges of the card panel down and I adhered it down with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. Then, before I adhered the inked circle die-cutting first; I ran through the die-cutting machine the largest die of the circle die set to die-cut a white circle. Second, I lined up the third + second-to-last dies, and I ran the through the die-cutting machine to die-cut a frame out of gold cardstock. Last but not least, after I was done with the circle die-cutting pieces, I glued down the white die-cutting circle to the center of the card panel followed by the inked circle die-cutting, which I mounted with craft foam over the white circle. Finally, to finish the layering of the focal point, I glued down the gold circle frame over the inked circle, and I finished the card by gluing down with liquid glue some gold jewels, and by adding 3 coats of Glossy Accent to the sentiment for an extra glossy dimension.
By the way, as you can see I also added shimmer and I reactivated the oxidized effect from the ink.
