Spellbinders DOML APR-2022┃Inspiration Card

Happy Friday, Friends! It’s the first day on the month and the newest club kits are here so, on today’s blog I’d like to share with you a fun and cute “Camera” inspiration tag with floral touches made showcasing: April’s 2022 Large Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, this month’s Large Die of the Month Club Kit includes twenty-eight dies that create this cute and fun camera along with its floral touches. Thus, I went ahead to line up the dies that cut out the camera body over a large piece of white cardstock and then, I proceeded to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Next, I lined up the die that cuts out the built-in flash over a small piece of white cardstock and then, I proceeded to cut it from it. I repeated this step seven more times to complete the full die-cutting pieces. Then, I went ahead to line up the large circle die to cut out the solid back side for the built-in flash and then, I used the same die along with the smaller circle die to cut out the built-in flash light frame out of Holographic cardstock to add a metallic touch to the camera.

Once, I had that done, I went ahead to line up the rest of the dies to cut out some of the parts for the built-in flash from white cardstock and some of them from the same holographic cardstock that I used for the frame. In the same way, I went ahead to cut out some of the parts for the lens from white cardstock and some from the holographic cardstock. Also, to keep going with the white and holographic die-cutting process, I went ahead to line up over a large piece of holographic cardstock the dies that cut out the dial mode dial and shutter buttons along with the solid die that cuts out the sentiments and the die that cuts out the handles for the camera. And, last but not least, I went ahead to use one of the dies to create the die-cutting smile sentiment.

Moving on, as soon as, I’ve had finished the die-cutting process for the camera pieces, I went ahead to get the assembling for it started. Thus, I went ahead to glue down the smaller white pieces over the large circle to create the built-in flash. Next, I proceeded to glue down the holographic and white pieces in the center of it and then, to add dimension, I went ahead to get the frame mounted over it using narrow pieces of craft foam adhesive to add a little bit of dimension to it. Once, I’ve had finished getting the frame mounted, I went ahead to put it off to the side so, I could go ahead to assemble the camera.

As for the camera body, I went ahead to get the smaller piece mounted over the larger with craft foam adhesive to add dimension. Next, I went ahead to glue down a smaller piece of acetate to the back of the large circle to add a glass effect for the lens. Then, I’ve got layered over the pieces for the lens and then, to add even more dimension, I went ahead to get the lens mounted with craft foam adhesive to the camera. Also, I went ahead to get the sentiment layered over and mounted over the lower side of the camera. Lastly, I went ahead to glue down the camera buttons and its handles along with the viewfinder. And then to finish the camera off, I went ahead to glue down the built-in flash, and I also added a piece of decorative cord to the camera handles. Having that said, after getting the camera assembling done, I went ahead to add even more dimension to the highlight die-cutting pieces for the lens and built-in flash using Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to add a touch of shimmering and Glossy Accent to add a dimensional shiny effect.

Lastly, to add the floral and greenery effect to it , I went ahead to use the dies included in the kit to cut out the flowers from Orange, Pink and Red colored cardstock and leaves from light and dark Green cardstock. Along with the center of the flowers which, I’ve got cut out from Gold cardstock. Having that being said, I went ahead to get the flowers assembled and then, I’ve got them glued down to the back side of the camera. Finally, to cover the flowers and greenery bottom and top pieces that I had gotten adhered to the back of the camera, I went ahead to cut out another piece for the bottom and another circle and then, I’ve got the backings of them adhered to the back of the camera, creating that way the completed look for the camera tag with a blank space where to write a personal message on the back of it.

And, with that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this fun and cute “Camera” inspiration tag with floral touches made showcasing: April’s 2022 Large Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders.
