Spellbinders DOMAPG FEB-2022┃Gate Fold Birthday Inspiration Card

Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog I’d like to share with you an elegant birthday inspiration card with a “Gate fold” touch made using, “Marvelous Medallion” FEB-2022 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month includes thirteen cutting dies that add ups elegant die-cutting touches to any occasion card thus, to make this card, I went ahead to create a gate fold card base out of large piece of white cardstock. To be exact, here are the measurements; H 4-3/4” x W 8-1/2” inches. Then, I added some scoring lines at 2-1/8” and 6-3/8” inches and folding over the scoring lines until, I ended up with gate fold card base with the following measurements H 4-3/4” x W 4-1/4” inches.

Thus, as soon as, I’ve had finished the card base, I’ve gone ahead to add the intricate die-cutting touch to the gate fold openings, so to do that, I used the insert die including in the kit. Therefore, I went head to line up the die over one of the card front flaps to cut out the delicate die-cutting touch twice side by side but leaving a little white frame. Next, I repeated the same step for the other front flap and once I had that step done, I went ahead to trim down two small cardstock panels a little smaller than the front flaps, as I wanted them to get them adhered under the intricate openings to cover the inside part of the card. If happens that you want to re-create this card, you can skip this step and leave it see-through or you can use translucent vellum for a frosted look.

Having that being said, after getting the smaller panels under the intricate openings, I went ahead to put the card base off to the side, so I could have move on to create the die-cutting pieces. So, to do that, I used the outline die along with the bottom layer die to cut out from gold cardstock two detailed pieces, one for the left and one for the right side of the card. Next, I used the detailed top layer die to cut out from white cardstock another two detailed pieces.

Next, as soon as I’ve had finished the die-cutting process for all pieces, I went head to layer them together and then, I proceeded to get the layered pieces glue down over the right and left card openings. Then, I used the smaller dies including in the club kit to cut out the layers for the small flowers from Pink, Peach and Coral cardstock hues along with Gold cardstock to cut out their centers and sprigs.

Once, I’ve had finished die-cutting the flowers layers, sprigs and leaves, I went ahead to get the assembling done for the flowers and then, I created a floral cluster with them. A floral cluster which, I’ve got mounted over the left side of the label that, I’ve previously created out white cardstock and layered over gold cardstock. To make the label, I used the die including in the club kit as well. Then, for the card sentiment, I used one of the sentiments including in Garden Favorites Sentiments Clear Stamp Set.

Lastly, I went ahead to finish the card off by getting the embellished label adhered over the card’s left side only, leaving the right side free of adhesive for the card could open and close, and by gluing down here and there gold jewels to add an extra pop of shine to it. By the way, I’d like to mention that after adding the label this card turned out into a W 5.0 x H 4-3/4” size card which, I will recommend mailing it out in a box or gift it by hand due its dimensions.

And, with that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this elegant birthday inspiration card with a “Gate fold” touch using, “Marvelous Medallion” FEB-2022 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month by Spellbinders.
