Spellbinders DEC-2021 KOM┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you a set of 5 handmade inspiration cards made using, Die Cut Shapes, Chipboard Stickers, Stamp Set, Die Set, Sequins and the Patterned Paper Pad including in DEC-2021 “Beauty is Everywhere” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step for how I’ve made them ↓

Therefore, as you know every time, I made card using spellbinders’ Card Kit of the Month, I start off by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I’m going to use to create each card. Thus, for this card, I went ahead to select this beautiful, patterned paper along with one of the Polaroid chipboard looking sticker frame including in the kit to create a shaker card.

Thus, I started off the card assembling by going ahead to trim down the edges of the patterned paper to H 5-1/4” x W 4.0” inches using my Comfort Paper Trimmer, and once I had that done, I’ve gone ahead to adhere down the backing of it using double-sided adhesive to one of the textured white card bases including in the kit. Next, I went ahead to create the shaker window over the chipboard frame, so to do that, I went ahead to flip over the chipboard frame facing the pretty side down to my craft table and then, I’ve gone ahead to peel off the paper backing of if to get piece of acetate adhered to its back. Next, I added pieces of craft foam adhesives to create dimension, and then, I went ahead to add lots of the sequins, as well as pieces of foil gilding flakes. Sequins, which by the way are including in the kit, and the foil gilding flakes which are part from my stash.

To make it easy, I went ahead to add another piece of acetate to seal the shaker frame and then, I went ahead to get the shaker frame mounted over the front card panel. Lastly, I went ahead to use some of the die cut shapes to get the shaker frame embellished as well as to create the card sentiment. Also, I used a small piece of DMC in metallic gold as the last touch to add an extra pop of shine to the card.

For the second example, I went ahead to create a pop-up card using the butterfly die cut shapes including in the kit. Thus, I started off by creating the card base, so to do that, I went ahead to trim off the edges from one of the patterned paper sheets and then, I quickly gone ahead to get the backing of it adhered with double-sided adhesive to one of the white textured card bases.

Next, to create the pop-up effect, I went ahead to cut one of the textured card bases in half and then, I’ve got 1/4” of an inch trim down from one side of one of the half card base. Therefore, after finishing the previous step, I went ahead to place down the white panel over my Scoring Board to trace over it some scoring lines at 1/2”, 1-1/2”, 4.0”, 5” and 5-1/2” inches point marks. Thus, after I had finished marking the scoring lines, I’ve gone ahead to fold them over using my Teflon bone folder, and once I had that step completed, I proceeded to get the ends with 1/2” on an inch adhered inwards using double-sided adhesive to the front of the card panel but making sure the bottom fold was edge to edge to the bottom part of the card base.

Once, I had the pop-up effect into place, I’ve gone ahead to trim down four smaller pieces from one of the similar patterned papers including in the paper pad to get them adhered over the front, upper, lower and inner parts of the pop-up effect. By the way, to be exact the measurements for them were (2) W 3-3/4” x H 3/4” inches for the top and bottom sides + (2) W 3-3/4” x H 2-1/4”inches for the front and inner side of the pop-up element.

Lastly, right after that I had finished the pop-up effect, I’ve gone ahead to get the card embellishment down. So, to do that, I went ahead to glue down some of the butterfly die cut shapes along with one of the floral die cut shapes (as shown in the image above) over the front side of the pop-up effect and some of the butterfly die cut shapes over the actual front card panel to create dimension. Last but not least, I went ahead to glue down here and there some of the sequins along with some of Pink Color Essentials Gems to add the card an extra pop of shine!

For the third example, I made a double-gate card design, so to do that, I went ahead to adhere together two of the textured white card bases. Next, right after that I had finished adhering them together, I went ahead to trim off 2-1/8” inches from each of the ends of the card base.

Right after that I had finished trimming them off, I went ahead to fold the ends over to close the card base. Next, I went ahead to trim off two smaller panels from one of the patterned paper sheets and then, I got the backing of them adhered over each side of the double-gate card opening. Then, to create the gold detailed edges, I went ahead to use the die including in the die set from the kit to cut out them out of gold cardstock.

Lastly, I went ahead to glue down the detailed die-cutting gold edges over the edges of the card opening and then, I created a removable belly band closure for the card, using some of the die cut shapes along with a small piece of translucent vellum. Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down here and there some of the sequins and gems to add pop of shine to it,

For the fourth example, I went ahead to trim down a panel to H 5-1/2” x W 3.0” inches from one of the patterned paper sheets and then, I got the backing of it adhered down with double-sided adhesive in the center of one of the textured white card bases.

Next, I used the die from the kit that I used in the previous example to cut out two detailed edges but this time I got them cut out from white cardstock. Having that being said, after getting them cut out from the white cardstock, I went ahead to get them glue down over the card ( as shown in the image above.)

Lastly, after finishing the last step, I went ahead to glue down some of the butterfly die cut shapes as well as some of the die cut shapes with words to create the card sentiment. Also, to finish the card off, I glued down as well some of the sequins and gems to add a pop of shine to the card.

For the fifth and last example, I made another pop-up card however, I made it in a landscaping form to change thing a bit. Thus, I went ahead to trim down a card panel from one of the pattern sheets and then, I got the backing of it adhered to one of the textured card bases.

Also, the measurements changed for the pop-up effect as the previous was in a portrait design and this is in a landscape design. Having that being said, I used other half piece of the card base that I had left-over, so I went ahead to place it down over my score board tool with the longer side to the right side of the scoring board to trace the scoring lines at 3/8”, 1-1/8”, 3-1/8”, 3-7/8” and 4-1/4” inches. Once, I had the scoring lined marked, I went ahead to fold them over and then, I got the pop-up effect adhered over the card

Same as I did for the previous example, I used pieces of patterned paper to add a pop of color to the pop-up effect and to change things a little bit more, I used the butterfly die including in the kit to cut the detailed die-cutting butterflies out of gold cardstock. So, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down the die cutting butterflies along with some of the die cut shapes to create the card sentiment, and last but certainly not least, I also got glue down some of the sequins and gems to add an extra pop of shine to this card as well.

And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of 5 handmade inspiration cards using, Die Cut Shapes, Chipboard Stickers, Stamp Set, Die Set, Sequins and the Patterned Paper Pad including in DEC-2021 “Beauty is Everywhere” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders.
