Scrapbook.com Sweet & Lovely Slimline┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very intricate and delicate set of slimline inspiration cards with a “Sweet & Lovely” look showcasing some of the latest and exclusive dies by Scrapbook.com. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓

Therefore, I started off by creating a few decorative and intricate die-cutting heart edges using one of the dies included in Decorative Die Set - Slimline - Borders 2 along with some of the colors from the following paper pads: Boho - Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad, Floral - Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad, and Harvest - Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad. Thus, to do that, I went ahead to line up the die over each colored cardstock and then, I went ahead to run them through my Sizzix - Big Shot Switch Plus Machine. Next, once I had that step completed, I proceeded to use the coordinating die to cut out the same number of solid edges from gold cardstock. So, as soon as, I had finished cutting them all, I proceeded to glue down the intricate die-cutting edges to the solid die-cutting edges and then, I continued to get each of the layered edges adhered to a slimline size white front card panel just, as shown in the image above. Lastly, to add a decorative edge at the end or underneath the decorative edges, I went ahead to use one of the dies included in Decorative Emboss and Die Set - Stitched Border Strips to cut it out from white cardstock and to get the embossed stitched effect. By the way, to even up the dimension, I got the white strip adhered to the card panel using Double Sided Adhesive Foam 1/4 Roll.

Having that said, once I had the front card panel embellished with the decorative edges, I proceeded to get the backing of it adhered using my Permanent Tape Runner to a slimline white card base. Next, to continuing with the card assembling, I went ahead to use some of the alphabet letters included in Uptown Alphabet - Upper and Lower to cut them out from gold cardstock. Nevertheless, as soon as, I had finished cutting them all from the gold cardstock, I proceeded to cut a few more but this time from white cardstock as I wanted to layer them all up to add dimension to them. Finally, I went ahead to finish the card off by getting each letter glue down over the decorative front card panel creating that way the simple Love You card sentiment.

For the second example, I created a lovely slimline shaker card using the die-cutting hearts that I had left over from the previous example therefore, I went ahead to create the slimline white frame so, to do that, I used two of the dies included in Nested Rounded Rectangles along with a large piece of white cardstock.

Moving on, as soon as, I had finished die-cutting the slimline white frame, I proceeded to get a piece of Acetate Sheets adhered with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Roll - 1/4 Inch to the backing of the frame to get the shaker window started. Next, I added pieces of Double Sided Adhesive Foam 1/4 Roll to the backing of the frame to raise some dimension and then, I put the frame aside. Meanwhile, I created the mini hearts background so, to do that, I used some of the Ink Blending Tool with Domed Foam along with Mini Hearts Stencil and some of the Distress Oxides Inks. To be exact, I used the following hues: Tattered Rose, Crackling Campfire, Saltwater Taffy, Ripe Persimmon, Wild Honey, and Brushed Corduroy.

Lastly, after getting finish off the ink blending to create the mini hearts background, I went ahead to trim down the edges from it to a slimline size panel and then, I layered over facing up to my craft table and then, I added the left-over hearts over it and followed by that, I went ahead to remove the backing of the craft foam adhesive and then, I got the backing of the frame adhered over the inked panel creating that way the shaker frame for the card. That said, I went ahead to get the backing of the shaker frame adhered to a slimline size white card base and then, to finish the card off, I added the card sentiment right in the center of the card. A sentiment which I created in the same way as I did for the previous example; however, this time I used the letters included in Festive Alphabet - Upper and Lower instead of using the letters from the other set.

And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this intricate and delicate set of slimline inspiration cards with a “Sweet & Lovely” look showcasing some of the latest and exclusive dies by Scrapbook.com.
