Mini Slimline┃Butterfly Inspiration Cards

Happy Thursday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very textured and dimensional set of “Butterfly” mini slimline inspiration cards made using Essentials Blanket Stitch Slimline & Mini Slimline Rectangles from the latest December-2021 Stamp, Dies, Stencil & Hot Foil Release by Pinkfresh Studio. Along with this set, I used Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate, Small Butterflies Layering Stencil Set and Small Butterflies Die + Solid Hot Foil Plate to create the butterflies. Then, to add more texture and dimension, I used Leafy Branch Die and Essentials: Mini Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die. And, last but not least, Scripted Greetings Dies as the cards sentiments, Metallic Pearls- Matte Gold to add an extra pop of metallic accent. And of course, PFS- Inks to ink up the butterflies. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓

Therefore, I started off by getting the hot foil stamping process done, so to do that, I went ahead to line up the Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate over my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform. A platform which was already on and ready to foil. Having that being said, I proceeded to get the hot foil stamping done over a large piece of white cardstock using my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine along with a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Aura.

Next, right after that I had finished the hot foil stamping for the butterflies, I’ve gone ahead to get the negative leftover foil piece hot foil stamped as well over another white cardstock piece using Solid Hot Foil Plate. So, as soon as I’ve had finished the hot foil stamping, I went ahead to line up over my Stencil Mat the outlined butterflies to get the layered stencil step done. As, for the layered stenciling, I used Small Butterflies Layering Stencil Set along with a combination of Ballet Slipper Ink, Peach Fuzz Ink, Warm Buff Ink and Misty Coast Ink.

Moving on, after I’ve had finished the layered stenciling for the butterflies, I’ve gone ahead to use Small Butterflies Die to cut out each butterfly from the cardstock. Once, I had them cut out from the cardstock, I’ve quickly gone ahead to cut out the frames as well. Thus, for the for the card frames or panels first, I went ahead to line up the smaller die including in Essentials Blanket Stitch Slimline & Mini Slimline Rectangles to add the stitching details to the edges plus, to cut the slimline panel out from white cardstock. Also, I went ahead to line up the die from Essentials: Mini Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die to cut out the scalloped panel from gold cardstock.

Then, as soon as I’ve had finished die-cutting the card panels, I went ahead to get the backing of the stitched card panel adhered over a mini slimline white card base. Next, I’ve got adhered the backing of the inner scalloped die-cutting frame over the card using narrow pieces of craft foam to raise dimension. To add texture, I’ve gone ahead to glue down over the front card panel a die-cutting branch leaves, branch which I’ve had previously cut out from white cardstock using Leafy Branch Die. Once, I had that step completed, I went ahead to get the embellishment done by mounting the butterflies and by gluing down here and there some of the Metallic Pearls- Matte Gold. As for the card sentiment, I went ahead to use the Thanks layered die including in Scripted Greetings Dies to create the die-cutting layered card sentiment out of glitter diamond and gold cardstock. By the way, to add even more dimension, I used my old EK hole punch to create the smaller white butterflies.

For the second card, I kept it simple by creating a similar card using the leftover outer scalloped frame. Having that being said, I went ahead to get it mounted it over a mini slimline card base using narrow pieces of craft foam adhesive to add some dimension to it.

Then, to add more texture, I went ahead and use two die-cutting branches instead of one as I did for the first example.

To embellish it and add even more dimension to the card, I used some of the butterflies, as I did for the first example, and I also used some of the metallic pearls to add an extra pop of shine to it.

And, with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this very textured and dimensional set of “Butterfly” mini slimline inspiration cards using products by Pinkfresh Studio.
