Glimmer Hot Foil Floral Greeting Cards

Glimmer Hot Foil Floral Greeting Cards

Happy Thursday, Friends! Today, I’d like to share with you these 2 perfectly imperfect floral foiled cards that, I’ve created using the Hot Foil Plates included in the Glimmer Hot Foil System by Spellbinders. Honestly, I’ve got to tell you, it was a bit of intimidated using the glimmer hot foil system for the first time but, after watching a few videos on how to use the system, I was ready to start foiling so, if you ever want to give the system a try, I’d like to encourage you to go and watch the videos provided by Spellbinder and Yana Smakula YouTube Channels. With that being said, let’s jump into today’s blog post ↓

To begin with, I started by turning on the Glimmer Hot Foil System. Once the platform was heated up and ready to foil, I chose to use the plate frame included with the system to foil the frame on my card panel. Even though, there’s a silver and rose gold foil rolls included with it today, I decided to use the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll Champagne color for a classic gold look. So, after my plate was placed on the platform, I trimmed a piece of the champagne foil and I placed it over with the shiny side down. Then, I placed the card panel over it, and I turned the hot setting button on.

In the meantime, I placed my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to have it ready for the Hot Foil Stamp Press process. In case you didn’t know, the system works along with any compatible die-cutting machine as, you must run the platform through it that way the pressure will transfer the foil to the cardstock. Speaking of pressure, after the platform was heat and I had run though the die-cutting machine, I realized that I needed to add an extra shim for a better result as, I got parts where the foil didn’t transfer completely. Because, I’m in the process of learning, I decided to use the card panel as is for you to see that, mistakes happen yet, the card panel still looks good in my opinion. So, after foiling the frame on the card panel, I placed the Hello Dear Friend Glimmer Foil Plate over the platform to foil on white cardstock the sentiments for the card with the same foil color. Once the sentiments were foiled, I used the Die included in the set to die-cut the hello out of the white cardstock. As, for the other sentiment, I trimmed it on a strip form, and I set it aside while I created the foiled flowers.

To create the flowers, I used color cardstock in Green, Peach and Pink as well as the Glimmering Layered Flowers Plate & Die Set. To foil them, I used the same champagne color that I used for the frame and sentiments. Lastly, after I was done foiling the flowers, I used their coordinated die included in the set, and I set the flowers aside white I created the second card panel.

Although, I didn’t use the frame plate included in the system for the second example, I did use the Best Wishes plate included with it to foil the sentiment inside the die-cutting frame that, I create using the Ornate Oval Frame Die.

I decided to do it this way because, I wanted to showcase better the flower as, you can see in the picture above the white on white make the flowers pop even more as, well as the sentiment. This is totally a preference choice, I’d say.

Before, I move on how I assembled the card, I’d like to give you a closer look for you to appreciate the Gorgeous and Elegant touch from the foil on the flowers.

Lastly, to finish the card panels off, I foam mounted each of the card panels to the A2 top folding white card bases that, I had previously scored and folded in half. As, you can see in the picture, for the card on the left, I foam mounted the hello die-cutting, and I adhered underneath of it with double-sided tape the dear friend sentiment strip. As, for the one on the right, I foam mounted the die-cutting frame leaving that way the foiled sentiment inside of it. Finally, I created 2 flower clusters with the foiled flowers and leaves. Which, I ended up adhering on the opposite side of each of the card right afterwards. For a final touch, I adhered jewels in the center of each flower for an extra sparkly look. With that being said, I hope you made it to the end, if you did, YAY!!! As always, I appreciate the time that take you to read my blog posts.
