Fun Fold Shaker With Pockets┃Birthday Inspiration Card

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a fun fold with pockets and a shaker touch “Birthday” inspiration card made using a full array of products from the newest: Birthday Release by The Stamp Market. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, I started off by creating the fun fold with a W shape card base out of one sheet from Hammermill Cardstock 100 lb - 100 Bright 17x11 inches cardstock which, I went ahead to cut out in half using a large ruler and a Rotary Cutter at W 17” x H 5-1/2” inches. Next, I went ahead to place the large cardstock piece over my Scoring Board to trace some scoring lines using the standard Teflon bone folder including in Craft Treat Teflon Bone Folder at the 4-1/4”, 8-1/2” and 12-3/4” inches marks.

Thus, as soon as I’ve had finished adding the scoring lines, I’ve gone ahead to fold the card base over and then, I’ve got reinforced each scoring line using the back of the bone folder. Next, I went ahead to select some of the patterned paper including in the Little Love 6X8 Patterned Paper Pad and then, I used my Comfort Paper Trimmer to trim them down at W4.0” x H 5-1/4” inches. Therefore, as soon as, I’ve had finished getting them trim down, I used double-sided adhesive to get the backing of three of them adhered to the back of the card base (as shown in the image above.) Leaving the front of the card plain white, to add the shaker focal point to it later on.

Moving on, after getting the patterned panel adhered to the back of the card, I went ahead to repeat the same steps to get the patterned panels adhered to the inside of the card. But this time, I did use four patterned card panels.

Having that being said, this is how this W shaped card base looks like from a upper view once the patterned panels are adhered to the back and inside of it.

Then, for the shaker front panel, I went ahead to get another patterned paper adhered to the card base and then, I used the larger dies inducing in Stitched Shaker Windows Die to create the detailed stitched frame. As for the shaker bits, I used a combination of glitters from my stash along with Crystal Confetti + Glimmer Specialty Clear Film to seal the shaker window.

Lastly, the large layered sentiment, I used a combination of Best Day Ever Stamp and Best Day Ever Layering Die. So, to do it, I went ahead to cut out the shadow layer from white cardstock using Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine and the die. Next, I use the coordinating stamp along with my MISTI Stamping Tool for the stamping process.

To create the inside pockets for the card, I went ahead to trim down four small white panels at H 2-1/2” x W 5.0” inches. Then, I added some scoring lines at 1/2 inch to the left, right and bottom parts of panel. Then, I went ahead to get the scoring lines folding over, and right after that, I quickly went ahead to get the sides and bottom parts from the pockets adhered to the four sides of the inside of the card using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.

Once, I had the card base and its pockets adhered to it, I went ahead to put it off to the side to create the birthday elements that I was planning on adding inside the pockets. So, to do that, I went ahead to use the Crown Die to create the shaker crown from white cardstock.

Next, to compliment the shaker crown, I used Birthday Queen Stamp and Birthday Queen Dies to add the complimentary tag and sentiments to it. As a final touch, I glued down the shaker crown to a acrylic Popsicle stick to add a wand look to it and then, I finish it off by adding a metallic accent creating a bow with a large piece of DMC in metallic silver.

To create this cute popper, I used the Popper Die along with a large piece of white cardstock to create the base and with scrap pieces of the patterned paper to create the stripes.

Then, I used holographic cardstock to create the popper elements and then, I used one of the card sentiments from Cue The Confetti Stamp and its coordinating dies Cue The Confetti Dies to cut it out from the white cardstock after getting it stamped, and to cut it out from colored cardstock to add a little pink shadow to it.

Lastly, as the last pocket element, I made this cute tag using the Happy Birthday die which it’s free with a $100 The Stamp Market order.

That said, to make it, I went ahead to cut out the tag from white cardstock and the letters from a scrap piece of one of the patterned papers. As simple as that, I went ahead to glue down the letters over the tag to create the Happy Birthday sentiment and then, I went ahead to finish the tag off by adding a piece of DMC in metallic silver as well.

Finally, to finish this fun and dimensional fun fold card off, I went ahead to adhere smaller pieces of the patterned paper to the front side of the pockets ( as shown in the image above.)

Next, I proceeded to insert the pocket elements inside the card pockets on each pockets.

Although, I only added pockets and their elements to the inside of the card, it will also be fun to add more pockets to the inside of it or pictures and more, to convert it on a mini album as well. The sky it’s the limit when comes to embellishments if you will!
