Concord & 9TH Garden Party Patterned Paper Pack ┃Inspiration Card

Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a beautiful inspiration card with a “Pop-Up” look showcasing the latest: Garden Party Patterned Paper Pack from the April’s Release by Concord & 9TH. Along with these beautiful patterned paper sheets, I’ve used Hello Wishes Stamp and Hello Wishes Dies to add the card sentiments and the floral element to add the beautiful patterns and colored cardstock from Assorted Color Cardstock to cut out the floral element. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓

Therefore, for the first example, I started off by selecting three patterned paper sheets from the patterned paper pad and once I had them up selected, I went ahead to put them off to the side so, I could go ahead to create the card base.

Thus, to create the card base first, I went ahead to fold over in half an A2 top folding white card base and then, I got the front of it embellished by getting a smaller front card panel adhered with double-sided adhesive to it. A smaller card panel which, I had trimmed down using my Paper Trimmer from one of the patterned paper sheets.

Having that said, as soon as, I’ve had getten the front card panel adhered to the card base, I went ahead to put it off to the side to create a smaller dimensional card panel. A smaller dimensional card panel which, I was planning to use it as the focal point for the belly band closure, to keep the card closed after adding the inner pop-up effect to it.

So, to create the dimensional card panel, I went ahead to line up the Pinwheel Quilt Top Dies over a large piece of white cardstock and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to cut out and add the stitching details to it. Next, I used the large stamp and its coordinating die included in Hello Wishes Stamp and Hello Wishes Die to get the card sentiment stamped and die-cutting out from white cardstock. As for the card sentiment, I went ahead to use my MISTI Mini Stamp Tool, VersaMark Ink Pad, Metallic Embossing Powder- Gilded, and Wow Embossing Powder Dual Speed Heat Tool for the stamping and heat embossing process. Therefore, after finishing off the card sentiment, I went ahead to add dimension to it by getting it layered over to another white die-cutting sentiments and then, I went ahead to put the detailed card panel and sentiment off to the side.

Moving on, to create the inner pop-up mechanism for this card, I went ahead to trim down two white cardstock pieces to H 2.0” x W 10.0” inches. Next, I placed one of them over my Scoring Board with the wider side to the right to trace over it 3 scoring lines at 2-1/2, 5.0, and 7-1/2 point marks using the standard Teflon Bone Folder for a cleaner look. Then, once I had that done, I went ahead to repeat the same scoring line to the second cardstock piece. Thus, as soon as, I had both cardstock pieces scored, I went ahead to keep the last one over the score board but by turning the longest side towards me to get another scoring line right in the middle of it at the 1-inch mark.

Once, I had that done, I went ahead to place down the last cardstock piece as I had it over the score board to create two diagonal folds in the center of it over by getting fold over the upper side of it towards the right to create a triangle but making sure the middle and left side scoring lines met one over the other. Next, I repeated the same steps but this time towards the left side to create another triangle also, making sure coring lines met one over the other. Having that said, after getting all scoring lines fold over, I went ahead to hold on the cardstock piece with both hands and to place my index fingers in the middle of each side to push down the side of the scored cardstock and then, to create the triangles which were crated from the diagonal folding steps and by making sure that the middle folds were inwards and the longest side of the pop-up element was facing towards me and both triangles were created over the longest folding pieces and on both sides of the pop-up mechanism.

Lastly, to add the inner pop-up mechanism to the card, I went ahead to get the inner front and bottom flaps of the card embellished with two card panels which, I created from another patterned paper sheet. Next, I added liquid glue to the one of the triangles and then, I went ahead to get it glue down right in the center of the bottom flap card but making sure that the point side of it met the center of the card. Then, I went ahead to add glue to the other triangle to get it glue down in the same way but this time to inside of the front flap. Nevertheless, as soon as, I’ve had gotten the pop-up mechanism glue down to the card, I went ahead to add the pop-up element by gluing down the other piece that I’ve had gotten scored. So, to do that, I went ahead to glue down the bottom part of the left side of it to the pop-up mechanism and then, the upper side of the right side to create the pop-up element for the card. And then, to get the pop-up element embellished, I used another patterned paper sheet and sentiments included in the same stamp set to create the small sentiments + the dies included in the die set to create the small die-cutting flowers and greenery.

Then, going back to the belly band closure for the card, I went ahead to trim down the stitched and detailed white card panel and then, I went ahead to glue down the die-cutting, stamping and heat embossing card sentiment over it.

Next, I got the belly band closure panel embellished by gluing down two small floral clusters which I created with the same dies that I used to get the inside embellished.

Last but certainly not least, to finish this card off, I went ahead to use another piece of white cardstock to finalize the belly band closure and then, I used my Jewels Picker along with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to glue down some of the Rhinestones Sunlight Gold to the center of the flowers and the inner pop-up effect just to add a touch of sparkle to it.
