WOW! October-2020 Sparkles & Shine Challenge┃ Botanical Inspiration Card

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Today, I’d like to share a very sparkly “Botanical” inspiration card that I’ve made for the “OCT-2020 “Sparkles & Shine” challenge theme over at the WOW! Embossing Powders Facebook Page using WOW! Dancing Green Sparkles powder. With that being said, I also would like to invite you to come and play along with us for a chance to win a $15.00 or ₤15.00 gift card to WOW! US or WOW! UK online stores. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made it ↓

To begin with, I started by temporarily tape it down using low-tack tape the Tumbling Leaves Stencil over a large piece of Strathmore Smooth Bristol Paper. Once, I’ve had them in place, I’ve used an ink blending brush and I’ve gone ahead very softly to get the card panel ink up using Mint and Olive ink.

Therefore, after I’ve had the ink blending done over the card panel, I’ve removed the stencil and I went ahead to trim the edges off from the card panel slightly smaller than the card base. Next, I’ve adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 side folding Kraft card base.

Once, I’ve had done adhering the card panel to the card base I went ahead to set it aside and I moved on to die-cut the botanical leaves. Thus, for that I’ve gone ahead to line up the largest die from the Leaflet Die Set over a large piece of white cardstock and then, I’ve ran them though my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Then right after, I’ve gone ahead to die-cut the same die but, this time out of translucent vellum. Moving on, after I’ve had done die-cutting both leaves I’ve gone ahead to line up over a piece of gold cardstock one of the Thanks dies from the Lots of Thanks Word Die Set to die-cut the sentiment for the card.

Lastly, after I’ve had done die-cutting all pieces, I’ve gone ahead to completely cover the white die-cutting leaves with Mod Podge using a paint brush. Therefore, after I’ve had done that step, I’ve gone ahead to cover the wet surface with WOW! Dancing Green Sparkles. So, after I’ve had it completely cover, I’ve went ahead to set it aside to dry thus, after it was completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to add another layer of Mod Podge to seal the glitter. Last and not least, after the second layer was completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to mount with craft foam tape the glittery die-cut leaves over the card base (as shown in the image above) then, afterwards, I’ve gone ahead to glue down with liquid glue the translucent die-cut leaves (as shown in the image above.) Finally, to finish the card off, I’ve glued down with liquid glue the die-cutting Thanks word (as shown in the image above) and, as a finishing touch I’ve gone ahead to glue down also with liquid glue a few sequins for an extra touch of shine. With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created this “Botanical” inspiration card.
