To begin with, I started by folding in half a card base from the Strathmore Watercolor Cards & Envelopes card bases pack. Next, I secured it with washitape to a clipboard and I transferred one of my hand drawn eucalyptus leaves from my sketch book over the card base. Once, I’ve got the image transferred over the card base with a pen, I added lots and lots of Embossing Tool Powder to remove any oil and static from the surface, as I was going to trace once again the image with my WOW! Embossing Pen.

Therefore, after I got the image traced with the embossing pen, I added WOW! Metallic Gold Rich and I heat set the entire image with my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool until the powder was completely melted. Then, right after the heat embossing, I secured once again the card base over the clipboard to watercolor the leaves in with a mix of a very soft wash that I created using my Derwent Intense Watercolor Set.

Once, the water-coloring- was dry I removed the card base from the clipboard, and I placed it over my stamping tool to get the sentiment stamped. For the sentiment, I used one of the sentiments from the Fancy Greetings Stamp Set which I got it stamped with WOW! Embossing Pad and gold heat embossed with metallic gold rich embossing powder.

Finally, to finish the card off, I used once again the embossing pen to trace over it a frame with the help of a ruler. And… to keep it simple I covered each of the leaves with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen, and I glued down here and there sequins for a shimmering look. With that said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created today’s “Eucalyptus Just Because” card using one of my hand drawn leaves inspired by the “Nature” challenge.
