WOW! August Masculine Challenge┃ Thanks Inspiration Card

Happy Tuesday, Friends! It’s week 4 for AUG-2020 “Masculine” challenge theme over at the WOW! Embossing Powders Facebook Page. So therefore, this week I’ve created this sparkly “Thanks” masculine card made using WOW! Neptune and WOW! Metallic Gold Rich powders. With that being said, I’d like to invite you to come and play along with us for a chance to win a $15.00 or ₤15.00 gift card to WOW! US or WOW! UK online stores. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made it ↓

To begin with, I started by painting the background for the card so, to do that I diluted with water a Light Blue, Dark Blue and Metallic Gold acrylic paints.

Then, after I’ve had diluted the acrylic paint I used a paint brush to start painting over a white card panel with large strokes so therefore, I started in the middle with the Metallic Gold hues and from there I kept going from side to side with the 2 different Blue hues until I reached a gradient look.

So, after I had the acrylic painting done over the card panel, I set it aside to let it dry. In the meantime, I went ahead to start the die-cutting pieces so, for the die-cutting I started by lining up over 2 white card panels the A and B layered plates from the Layered Plaid Cover Die Set. Thus, once I had them lined up I went ahead to run them both along with the card panels through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Soon after that I’ve had the plaid die-cutting pieces, I poked the positives pieces out using my Tool ‘n One, and I proceed to stacked them both using liquid glue. So, after I had that step done, I set the paid die-cutting aside and continued to lined up the Mega Thanks Die over a large piece of white cardstock once, I had them lined up I went ahead to run them though the die-cut machine then, after I had the first mega thanks die-cutting piece, I went ahead to repeat this step 3 more times because, I was going for a dimensional and sturdy look for the thanks.

Lastly, after I’ve had the mega thanks die-cutting pieces done, I stacked them all using liquid glue and once I had that done, I fully inked up the top of it with WOW! Embossing Pad until I created a sticky surface for the glitter to stick of. That said, after I had created the sticky surface, I went ahead to cover it with WOW! Neptune glitter and then, I finished the heat embossing using my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool. Last but not least, after I had the pieces completed I started the assembling for the card.

For the assembling, I trimmed the edges off from the painted card panel a bit smaller than the card base and then, I added white splatters using White acrylic paint. Once, I had that done and the splatters were dry, I went ahead to get the plaid die-cutting background adhere down with liquid glue over it. Then after that I mounted the dimensional and sparkly mega thanks die-cutting word. However, I’d like to mention that I also created a metallic gold mega thanks die-cutting pieces which I glued down as a shadow layer for the mega thanks. And, finally to finish the card off I adhered the backing of the card panel with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base and last but certainly not least, I mounted a small sentiment which I had previously gold heated emboss on a piece of white cardstock along with crystal confetti sequins to add a touch of shine! With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created sparkly-masculine “Thanks” inspiration card.
