Swirl Merry & Bright┃Inspiration Card

Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a seasonal inspiration card made with a “Merry & Bright” colorful look using: Swirl Background Stencil to create the colorful background. Merry & Bright Hot Foil and Merry & Bright Die for the large card sentiment. And lastly, Snowflakes Background Stamp along with PFS- Inks to add a partially snowy look. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, I started off by getting the hot foil stamping done over a a large piece of white card so, to do that, I went ahead to use Merry & Bright Hot Foil along with Glimmer Hot Foil System and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine plus, a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Matte Gold.

Next, as soon as, I had gotten the hot foil stamping step completed, I proceeded to use Merry & Bright Die to cut out the large sentiment from the cardstock and then, I also cut out three more sentiments from plain white cardstock to add dimension later on when getting to the time on adding it to the card.

So, after getting the die-cutting for the card sentiments done, I proceeded to put them off to the side and then, I lined up the same die but this time right over the center of the front flap of an A2 size side folding white card base, to create the partially die-cutting process. Thus, to do that, I went ahead to place facing down flat open the card base over the cutting plate and then, I placed the edge of the other die-cutting plate over the center of the die, cutting that way only half of the front flap of the card. By the way, I’d like to mention that, I used the paper trimmer to trim off the bottom and top parts of the die-cutting over the front card flap to achieve a straight line for a cleaner look.

Having that said, after getting the partially die-cutting process over the front flap of the card, I went ahead to use another side folding white card base and then, I got both opposite bottom card flaps adhered with double-sided adhesive to create a tri-fold card.

Moving on, after getting the card base adhered, I went ahead to put it off to the side and then, I use the stencils including in Swirl Background Stencil set to create the colorful swirl background. So, to do that, I used some ink blending brushes along with the following ink colors: Bubble Gum Ink, Candy Apple Ink, Marigold Ink, and Mermaid Cove Ink.

This stencil set includes 5 stencils so, I used four of them to ink up the white card panel with the ink colors and the fifth stencil, I decided to add a little textured and sparkling touch to the colorful swirl by using one of Tonic Studios Nuvo Media Spatulas along with Acrylic Modeling Paste and Crystal Diamond Glitter. So, as soon as, I had that step completed, I went ahead to put it aside to let the molding paste dry.

Meanwhile, I went ahead to use the MISTI Mini Stamp Tool along with an A2 size white card panel to create the subtle snowy card background using Snowflakes Background Stamp and Ocean Breeze Ink. Nevertheless, as soon as, I had gotten finished stamping the card background, I went ahead to use the Paper Trimmer to trim off a smaller panel from the stamped background at H 5-1/2 x W 2.0 inches. Next, right after I had gotten that step done, I went ahead to get the backing of the inked and textured card panel adhered to the inner card flap.

By the way, I went ahead to make sure that the molding paste was completely dry before getting the card panel adhered to the card flap. Having that being said, after getting it adhered to it, I went ahead to close the card up and then, I proceeded to get the smaller stamped panel adhered to the smaller front card flap. Lastly, I went ahead to stack over the die-cutting sentiments and then, I’ve got the dimensional and hot foil stamped sentiment gluing down to the card.

Finally, I would like to mention that I skipped any extra embellishments due the contrast from the backgrounds and the shine from the hot foil stamping other than that, this is how the card should look like from top view.

And, this is how it looks like from a front view when is standing up. That being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this glimmering and seasonal inspiration card with a “Merry & Bright” colorful look using products by Pinkfresh Studio.
