Spread Your Wings┃Butterfly Inspiration Card

Happy Thursday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very dimensional “Butterfly” inspiration card made using; Spread Your Wings Combo and Wrapped Bouquet Combo stamp and dies by Waffle Flower from their latest, May 2021 Social Butterfly Collection. Along with them, I also used A2 Lacy Layers Die and Lacy Ovals Die sets to create the dimensional panel for the card. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

To begin with, I started off by placing inside my MISTI Stamping Tool a large panel of watercolor paper. Next, I went ahead to line up over it the 2 larger and the 2 medium butterfly stamp images from Spread Your Wings Combo stamp set and then, I’ve gotten the butterfly images stamped using Detail Black Ink.

Thus, as soon as I had finished the stamping over the watercolor panel, I went ahead to get each of the butterfly painted using a mixing of Pink, Red and Orange hues which I’ve had previously mixed using hues from my Mijello Mission Gold Water Color Palette.

Therefore, right after that I’ve had finished the water-coloring over the stamped butterflies, I’ve gone ahead to set them off aside to let them completely dry.

Meanwhile, I went ahead to line up over a large piece of white cardstock the largest die from A2 Lacy Layers Die and I also lined up over another 2 pieces of white cardstock the third and second-to-last dies from Lacy Ovals Die therefore, once I had them all line up over the cardstock pieces, I went ahead to run each of them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die-cut out each of the detailed panels for the card.

So, as soon as I had finished die-cutting each card panel, I went ahead to get the backing of the large card panel adhered with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. Next, kept going with the dimensional background panel so to do that, I also got adhered down with double-sided tape the scalloped card panel to it. Having that said, to add dimension, I went ahead to get the backing of the smaller card panel adhered with craft foam adhesive.

Moving on, after having the card base layering completed, I went ahead to line up over each butterfly their coordinating die including in the combo and I ran them through the die-cut machine to get each of them die-cut out of the watercolor panel as well as out of regular white cardstock. Nevertheless, as soon as I had finished the die-cutting process for the butterflies, I went ahead to get each of them glue down over the plain die-cutting butterflies and last but not least, I’ve gotten them mounted over the card (as shown in the image above.) Lastly, to finish the card off, I went ahead to mount a dimensional stamped and gold heat embossing sentiment which I had previously created using a sentiment and die including in Wrapped Bouquet Combo.

Finally, as a finishing touch, I went ahead to glue with Bearly Art Mini 2 fl oz Precision Craft Glue + Tip Kit here and there a combination of sequins to add a pop of shine to it and a few white highlights using white acrylic paint! And, with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this dimensional “Butterfly” inspiration card.
