Spellbinders NOV-2021 DOM┃Inspiration Card

Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very delicate, yet extra glimmering and textured “Hand-Stitched” slimline inspiration card made showcasing the latest, November-2021 “Stitched Curved Border & Ornaments” Small Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders. Along with it, I’ve also used Yana's Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set for the card sentiment and the classic Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓

Therefore, this month’s Small Die of the Month Club Kit includes 13 dies which 2 die cut the border rim, 1 that die cut the border insert + 9 dies that die cut the ornaments along with their inserts and the die that die cut the ornament caps and 1 die that die cut the string.

Thus, I went ahead to to line up the border insert die over one edge of a large white cardstock piece that measured H 3-7/8” x W 8-7/8” inches and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Next, I repeated the same steps to die cut the other edge of the card panel. Then, as soon as I’ve got that done, I went ahead to use the border rim dies to get the edges of the card panel cut. In the image above you can see the different ways you can use the border rim dies to create different card looks.

Having that said, as soon as I’ve gone the die-cutting done for the card panel, I went ahead to die cut some ornaments out of white cardstock using the ornaments dies and their inserts, and once I’ve got that done, I quickly went ahead to add a pop of color to the ornaments using ink blending brushes along with Glow and Fig color inks by Pigment Craft Co. Thus, while I was waiting for the ink to soak in into the ornaments, I went ahead to start the hand-stitching for the card panel using an embroidery needle along with DMC in metallic white gold color. Soon after that I had finished the hand stitching for the large card panel, I’ve gone ahead to add the hand stitches to the ornaments as well using the same DMC color.

Lastly, after finishing the hand-stitching for the card panel and the ornaments, I went ahead to die-cut the solid images for the ornaments, and once I’ve got that done, I’ve gone ahead to glue them down over their bases. Then, for the card assembling I went ahead to fussy cut out with sharp scissors the hanging edges from the hand-stitched card panel, and once I’ve got that done, I’ve gone ahead to get the backing of adhered with craft foam adhesive over a slimline off-white card base. Last but not least, I went ahead to mount the ornaments as shown in the image above and then, I also got mounted a hot foil stamped sentiment, a sentiment which I’ve had previously created over a piece of white cardstock, using one of the sentiments from Yana's Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set along with a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass and of course the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform for the hot foil stamping process.

Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down here and there some of the Crystal Confetti to add an extra pop of shine to the card and some die-cutting bows on top of the ornaments for an extra festive look. And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this very delicate, yet extra glimmering and textured “Hand-Stitched” slimline inspiration card showcasing the latest, November-2021 “Stitched Curved Border & Ornaments” Small Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders.
