Spellbinders JULY-2020 Card Kit of the Month┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing these 5 “Vintage” cards that I’ve made using the Die Cut Shapes, Chipboard Stickers & Frames, Sequins and Patterned Paper Pad included in JULY-2020 “Vintage Mementos” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I’ve created them ↓

As usual, I started by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I was going to use to create these cards so therefore, I trimmed the edges off from one of the patterned papers a bit smaller than the card base, and I adhered the backing of it with the double-sided tape included in the kit on landscaping form to one of the A2 textured card bases included in the kit.

Then right after that I had the card base, I set it aside and I lined up the detailed frame die included in the kit over a piece of mirrored gold cardstock also included in the kit and I went ahead to run them through the die-cut machine to die cut a frame out of it. Once, I had the frame die-cutting done, I glued it down a bit offset to the right side of the card and I went ahead to start adding the embellishments. As for the embellishments, I glued down (as shown in the image above) a few of the die cut shapes, and I also glued down some of the sequins to add a touch of shine.

For the second example I created a portrait shaker card so therefore, I went ahead to trim the edges off from the selected patterned paper a bit smaller than the card base, and I adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to one of the textured A2 white card bases.

Then for the shaker window, I used one of the chipboard frames so, I went ahead to peel off the frame and I adhered a piece of acetate to it. So, once I had the acetate adhered to the frame, I went ahead to add piece of craft foam around the frame window to add dimension so the sequin could have a bit of movement. So, right after I had covered the frame with the craft foam, I added a bunch of sequins to the card base and I peel off the backing of the tape. Then, right after that I adhered the frame over the sequins, and to finish the card off I went ahead to embellish the card (as shown in the images above) with some of the die cut shapes.

The third example was one of the simpler example of all, as all I did was to trimmed the edges off from one of the patterned paper and I adhered it with double-sided tape to one of the A2 textured white card bases.

And then, I peel off the backing of one the chipboard frame and I adhered it to one of the vintage journal cards included in the kit.

So therefore, after I had created my own frame with them, I went ahead to adhere it down with double-sided tape to the card panel, and last but certainly not least, I finished the card off by mounting some of the die cut shape with square dimensional adhesives to add dimension.

I kept the fourth example as simpler as the previous one so therefore, I went ahead to trim the edges off from one of the patterned papers and I adhered it with double-sided tape to one of the textured card bases.

Then, I stacked a few of the vintage journaling cards to add dimension and to make the selected one sturdy, and I mount it to the center of the card.

And right after, I finished the card off by adhering down some of the die cut shapes and by gluing down some of the sequins to add a touch of shine.

For the fifth and last example, I trimmed the edges off from the patterned paper and I adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape on landscaping form to one of the card bases.

So therefore, after the card base was done, I peeled off the backing of one of the chipboard frame and I adhered it to the card, then right after that I adhered some of the chipboard stickers and a few of the die cut shapes. Lastly to finish the card off, I glued down with liquid glue some of the sequins to complement the shine from the foil included in the paper and the rest of the embellishments.
