Spellbinders GOM September-2020┃Have a Colorful Day Inspiration Cards

Happy Thursday, Friends! Today, I’ll be sharing with you these 2 non-traditional “Rainbow” cards made using the just released “Have a Colorful Day” Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club by Spellbinders. So, without further ado, let’s jump into the step by step on how I made them ↓

To begin with, as usual I started by setting up on my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine then, I turned on the glimmer hot foil platform, and while the platform was heating up, I went ahead to cut small pieces of foil using a sharp pair of scissors from each of the glimmer foil roll included in the Glimmer Hot Foil 4 Rolls - Essential Metallics Variety Pack.

So therefore, once the platform was ready to foil, I went ahead to lined up each of the individual detailed rainbow strips over a white card panel along with the glimmer foil pieces. Once, I had that step done, I went ahead to get the foiling process done.

Moving along, after I’ve had the detailed rainbow strips foiled, I went ahead to line up the die included in the kit to get each of them die-cut out of the cardstock. Thus, after I had the die-cutting pieces done, I set them aside and I went ahead to line up and get foiled the sentiment over a white square card panel. Lastly, after I had the sentiment foiled, I went ahead to ink up the card panel using a blending brush and Tattered Rose distress oxide ink for a very peachy-pink soft look.

Finally, after I’ve had the inking done over the card panel, I went ahead to trim the edges off from it and I mounted it with craft foam tape over a 4-1/2 X 4-1/2 white square card base. Once, I had the card base done, I mounted with skinny pieces of foam tape each of the rainbow strip to complete the rainbow and to finish the card off, I went ahead to mount also with craft foam tape 2 small clouds on each side of the rainbow which by the way I’ve had die-cut and inked up using the cloud die included in the kit. And last but not least, as a finishing touch I went ahead to add white splatter using white acrylic paint plus, sequins and jewels for an extra touch of sparkle!!!

For the second example, I created a landscape cloudy sky card so therefore, I went ahead to lined up a bit to the upper side from the center of an A2 white card panel the small rainbow plate included in the kit. Thus, once the plate was onto place, I secured it with a piece of washi-tape and I added a small piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold. Once, I’ve had that step done, I went ahead to get the rainbow foiled over the card panel.

Then, right after I had the rainbow foiled over the card panel, I went ahead to remove the plate and placed one of the sentiments plates underneath the foiled rainbow so, as soon as the glimmer plate was onto place, I went ahead to get the sentiment foiled with glimmer gold foil. Lastly, after I’ve foiled the rainbow and sentiment, I removed the glimmer plate and I went ahead to get the water-coloring done for the rainbow. To do that, I used Tattered Rose, Speckled Egg and Pumice Stone distress inks plus, a mix of pastel green hue that I had from a previous project.

Finally, after I’ve had the water-coloring done, and the card panel was completely dry I went ahead to carefully inked up the cloudy sky using once again Tattered Rose distress ink and CLOUD Mix-ables Stencil. Thus, after I was done inking the cloudy sky, I went ahead to trim the edges off a bit smaller than the card base and I mounted the backing of the card panel with craft foam tape to an A2 side folding white card base. Then, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add a few embellishments so, to do that I mounted with square dimensional adhesives 3 small white cloud (as shown in the image above) which I’ve had previously created with the die included in the kit, and last but not least, I glued down here and there a mix of sequins and jewels for an extra-extra touch of Sparkle!!
