Spellbinders FEB-2021 KOM┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you a set of 4 “Whimsical & Dimensional” Handmade Cards along with a matching Note Card & Tag made using Die Cut Shapes, Tags, Chipboard Stickers, Sequins, Die Set, Stamp Set and the Patterned Paper Pad included in FEB-2021 “Let Your Heart Soar” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step for how I’ve made them ↓

As per usual with every Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month, I started by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I was going to use to create each card so therefore, I started by making this Hello Lovely floral card. Therefore, to do that I went ahead to trim off the edges from this colorful polka dot patterned paper to H 5.0’’ x W 3-3/4’’ inches and then, I went ahead to adhere the backing of it to one of the textured white card bases using the double-sided tape included in the kit.

Next, as soon as I had the card base ready, I went ahead to set it off aside while I started to create the floral cluster using many of the floral die cut shapes included in the die cut shapes pack.

Thus, right after that I’ve had finished selecting all die cut shapes, I mounted the floral cluster over the card base by gluing down some of them with liquid glue while I mounted some of them using the square foam adhesives included in the kit to add a bit of dimension. So, as soon as I’ve gotten the floral cluster mounted over the card, I went ahead to mount the Hello Lovely die cut shape using it as the sentiment for the card. Last but not least, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add some sparkle to the card by gluing down some of the gold sequins included in the kit.

For the second card, I went ahead to trim off the edges from one of the patterned papers and then, I went ahead to get the backing of it adhered to one of the card bases using once again the double-sided tape included in the kit. Therefore, once I had that step done, I went ahead to select some of the die cut shapes along with some of the chipboard stickers to create this whimsical fairy celebration card.

Thus, after I’ve gotten them selected, I’ve gone ahead to adhere mount them (as shown in the image above) over the card base, as well as some of the gold sequins to add shine and some of the puffy heart stickers also included in the kit. Puffy stickers which by the way, I finished it off adding Glossy Accent for a dimensional shiny look.

For the third card, I made a landscape form card so therefore, I went ahead to trim the edges off from this beautiful cloudy sky patterned paper to W 5.0’’ x H 3-3/4’’ inches.

Next, I went ahead to mount the airplane chipboard sticker along with the balloons die cut shape to make it look as if they were a whole dimensional design.

Lastly, to finish the card off, I went ahead to mount with square foam adhesives one of the die cut shapes over the card using it as the sentiment for the card. Also, I’ve gotten glue down with liquid glue some of the gold sequins to add shine as well as some of the puffy heart stickers which I also added glossy accent in the same way as I did in the previous example.

For the fourth example, I made a cute note card so therefore, I went ahead to create a small top folding note card so, to do that I trimmed off one of the white textured card bases to H 4-1/4’’ x W 3.0’’ inches.

And, then I went ahead to mount over it one of the chipboard frames included in the kit, as well as die cut shapes and some of the floral puffy stickers. By the way, for this note card, I also used one of the sentiments from the stamp set which by the way…is also included in the kit.

Speaking about small note cards… for the fifth example, I went ahead to make a very dimensional and fun tag. Therefore, to do that, I used both die cut shapes in form of a tag and then, I went ahead to adhere the top of them together. Next, I kept going to get the one on top embellish using a few die cut shapes in form of sentiments and a dimensional rainbow sticker (as shown in the image above)

Moving on, to finish the tag off I went ahead to glue down some of the gold sequins and I also added a cute gold charm detail to it. FYI the beads, tassel and charms aren’t included in the kit.

For the sixth and last example, I made a colorful shaker card using the die and another chipboard frame. Therefore, I went ahead to trim the edges off from one of the patterned papers and then, I gotten it adhere to one of the card bases. Next, I created a shaker window using one of the chipboard frames along with a piece of acetate and a piece of patterned paper which I used to seal the back of the shaker window.

Thus, right after that I had finished filling up with the shaker elements and sealing the dimensional window, I went ahead to mount it to the card base and then, I set it off aside while I moved on to start the die-cutting process. For the die-cutting pieces, I went ahead to die-cut the air balloon 3 times. One out of gold cardstock, one out of light pink cardstock and the last time out of the light purple cardstock (all color cardstock included in the kit)

Lastly, to assemble the air balloon, I went ahead to use the gold die-cutting frame and then, I inlaid some of the die-cutting pieces from both colored cardstock adding that way contrast to it. So, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue the air balloon over the shaker window as well as some of the gold sequins to add an extra pop of shine. Then, last but not least, I mounted a sentiment to the card which I had previously stamp and heat embossing over a piece of white cardstock using one of the sentiments from the stamp included in the kit.
