Spellbinders Expressions of Faith Collection┃Inspiration Card

Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very colorful and dimensional card made with an “Encouraging Sentiment” showcasing Expressions of Faith Collection by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made it ↓

As, per usual every time I do foiling, I started by setting up on my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine over my Crafter's Essential Cutting and Alignment Mat. Then, I’ve gone ahead to turn on the glimmer hot foil platform and while the platform was heating up, I went ahead to line up over a white card panel each glimmer sentiment plate included in Faith Glimmer Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. Thus, right after that I’ve had all of them line up, I’ve gone ahead to cut a few pieces of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass using the newest tool which happens to be the fabulous Quick Trimmer.

So, once my platform was ready to foil, I’ve gone ahead to get every sentiment foiled. Thus, after I’ve finished foiling the sentiments, I’ve also gone ahead to get a few flowers and butterflies foiled too over plain white cardstock. For the flowers and butterflies, I’ve used the same foil color along with Glimmering Butterflies Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and Glimmering Layered Flowers Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.

Moving on, after I’ve finished getting the foiling done, I’ve gone ahead to line up every coordinated die to each foiled sentiment, butterflies and flowers. So, right after that I’ve got them all lined up, I’ve gone ahead to run them thru my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine and, once I was done die-cutting all pieces, I’ve gone ahead to set them off to the side.

Meanwhile, I’ve gone ahead to line up over 2 large pieces of white cardstock the largest dies from Nestabilities Essential Circles Etched Dies and Nestabilities Essential Squares Etched Dies. Thus after I was done lining them up, I’ve gone ahead to run them thru my die-cut machine. Right after that after I’ve finished die-cutting the frames, I went ahead to adhere with double-sided tape the square detailed frame to a square card and then, I’ve mounted the detailed frame to card with craft foam tape to add dimension, Lastly, I’ve gone ahead to create a cluster using the butterflies, flowers and some greenery too.

As, I mentioned earlier that I’ve gotten done the foiling for the butterflies and flowers over plain white cardstock so therefore, to add a pop of color, I went ahead to ink blend over each foiled piece using the following Distress Oxide Inks for the flowers; Abandoned Coral and Spiced Marmalade and, for the butterflies I’ve used; Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon. With that said, after I’ve finished ink blending each of them, I went ahead to curl up the small flower using the medium tip from the Stylus Tips for Tool n' One set so therefore, after I’ve had finished that step, I went ahead to assemble the cluster (as you can see in the image above) And, finally, I’ve finished the card off by mounting the foiled sentiment on the upper right side of the frame and by gluing down with liquid glue some gold jewels to add an extra touch of shine.

The Expressions of Faith Collection also includes this beautiful Gleaming Cross Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set so therefore, I went ahead to get the 4 parts of it foiled with the same foil color over a large piece of white cardstock however, as I wanted a 3D effect on it, I went ahead to get each part foiled twice so I could achieve that.

Once, I’ve had finished the foiling, I’ve gone ahead to add color by inking each piece up with Abandoned Coral and Spiced Marmalade distress oxide inks and then, I used their coordinated dies to die-cut them out from the cardstock piece. Therefore, after I’ve had finished the ink blending, I’ve gone ahead to mount each backing side of it to the other with craft foam tape to achieve the 3D effect.

Lastly, I’ve used my Crop-A-Dile Hole Punch & Eyelet Setter to open a hole on the top side of it and, I’ve tied a bow with a large piece of DMC Metallic Thread (as shown in the image above. And, then to finish it off, I went ahead to seal the little punched hole with a small fastener.
