Spellbinders DOM-OCT20┃Fall Leaves Card Creator Inspiration Cards

Happy Thursday, Friends! It’s the first day of the month so, on today’s blog I’d like to share with you a set of handmade cards with a “Fall Vibes” theme made using OCT-2020 “Fall Leaves Card Creator” Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓

To begin with, I started by loosely painting 2 watercolor panels using a combination of Pink, Red, Burgundy, Orange, Brown hues for one, and the second with Green hues to create a contrast look.

Therefore, after I’ve had the water-coloring done, I’ve set the painted backgrounds aside to let them air dry. Meanwhile, I went ahead to line up the Thankful word die included in the kit over a piece of gold cardstock. Next, after having them line up, I’ve gone ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. And, to add dimension, I’ve also gone ahead to line up the same word die to die-cut it out 3X out of white cardstock.

Moving along, after I’ve finished die-cutting the word, I’ve gone ahead to stack them together and I’ve set it aside while, I’ve proceeded to die-cut the card panel pieces using the corner die from the kit. Thus, right after that I’ve gone ahead to line it up over a white cardstock panel along with that, I’ve also lined up the connector die and once I’ve them line up, I’ve gone ahead to run them through the die-cut machine. Then, I’ve repeated the same step but this time to die-cut them out of the water-colored card panel with the green hues. So, after I’ve finished die-cutting the corner pieces and the connectors, I’ve gone ahead to stack them together and soon after that, I’ve gotten them glue down with liquid glue to a white card panel, creating that way the Leaves Card Creator frame. Lastly, to add contrast, I went ahead to die-cut once again the leafy frame pieces but, this time out the other water-colored background so, to finish the card off, I’ve carefully fussy cut the Maple and Oak leaves out of the frame using a small sharp pair of scissor, and once I’ve had that done, I’ve gotten glue them down with liquid glue following the frame as guide. Last but not least, I’ve adhered the card panel with double-sided tape over an A2 top folding Kraft card base, and I finished the card by gluing down the die-cut sentiment along with a foiled sentiment which I’ve previously foiled.

For the second example, I’ve created a square card but, instead of making the frame the focal point I’ve created a wreath the focal point so therefore, first, I’ve gone ahead to line up the corner die over a white card panel, and then I went ahead to die-cut it out 8X.

Once, I’ve the die-cut pieces done, I’ve gone ahead to stack them together and then, I’ve gotten them glue down with liquid glue to a 4-1/4’’ X 4-1/4’’ inches Kraft card base. Thus, after the card base was completed, I went ahead to mount with craft foam tape a white circle which, I’ve had previously die-cut using the 2 largest die from Nestabilities Standard Circles Dies.

Lastly, after I’ve mounted the white circle over the card base, I’ve started gluing down with liquid glue (as shown in the image above) the small leaves which, I’ve had previously die-cut out of the leftover water-colored card panels using the 2 small group dies that die-cut single leaves. Therefore, after I’ve had completed the wreath following the circle shape, I’ve finished the card by mounting the Blessed die-cut word which, I’ve die-cut in the same way as I did in the previous example. By the way, even though I didn’t used the Grateful die, I’d like to mention that the kit also includes a third word die.

Finally, after finishing both cards off, I went ahead to glue down here and there with liquid glue crystal sequins along with tiny burgundy jewels to add an extra touch of sparkle.
