Spellbinders DOM-APR2020┃Inspiration Card

Happy Thursday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you this wedding theme card that, I’ve created with the new April-2020 “Special Celebrations” Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado, let’s jump to the step by step on how I made it ↓

To begin with, I’d like to mention that instead of using color cardstock, I used 2 heat embossed card panels that I created with WOW! Mint Macaroon and WOW! Angel Eyes.

Therefore, I trimmed the edges down from the lighter card panel to W 3-3/4’’ x H 5.0’’ inches. Once, the edges were off from the card panel, I mounted the card panel with craft foam to an A2 side folding white card base.

So, after the card panel was mounted over the card base, I set it aside and I started the die-cutting process. As for the die-cutting, I used the darker heat embossed card panel so, I ran through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the back and front dies of the car from the Shapeabilities Sunday Drive Etched Dies set. Also, I ran through the die-cutting machine the heart die and the Gemstone die from the “Special Celebrations” set to die-cut them out of the same heat emboss card panel.

To give the card a pop of color, I ran through the die-cutting machine the rest of the dies from the car, as well as the 2 dies that create a tied bow die, the ring die and the heart die from the “Special Celebrations” set. To finish the die-cutting process off, I ran through the die-cutting machine the cloud dies from the Shapeabilities Adventure Time Snapshots Etched Dies Scenic to die-cut them out of white cardstock, and last but not least, I ran through the die-cutting machine the tire die to die-cut it twice out of Glitter Black cardstock.

After, all die-cutting pieces were done, I started the assembling for the car so therefore, I glued down with liquid glue each die-cutting piece. To add a bit of more dimension, instead of leaving the windshield open, I decided to used it as a frame so, I glued it down to a piece of acetate to create the glass impression. You would be surprise how that little detail makes a difference in real life.

Moving on after I was done assembling the car, I mounted it with foam mounting tape to the card base. Then, I glued down with liquid glue 3 of the clouds, and I mounted one of them with square foam adhesive to add dimension in between them. By the way, the set also includes 4 heart dies that creates the “JUST” word to complete the “Just Married” sentiment however, I skipped that step.

As for the sentiment, I ran through the die-cutting machine the “Married” which, is 1 out of the 3 dies included in the set to die-cut it out from white cardstock. The word dies from this month’s kit works with the Truckin Through the Seasons Die Set however, they also work perfectly fine with the Shapeabilities Sunday Drive Etched Dies.

With that said, before I adhered down the sentiment, I glued down with liquid glue the 2 die-cutting pieces to create the tied bow. Right after that, I adhered down the sentiment to the trunk of the car and I adhered the tied bow as shown in the image above.

Lastly, I wrapped around the tied bow the strings from the balloons, and I added liquid glue to keep the strings in place.

Finally, as finishing touches I covered the clouds with shimmer using my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen also, I added a glossy dimension look to the diamond and side mirrors by adding Glossy Accent and to finish it off, I glued down here and there some sequins and jewels for an extra touch of shine. With that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created today’s wedding theme card showcasing the new April-2020 “Special Celebrations” Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders.
