Sketched and Delicate Flowers┃Slimline Inspiration Cards

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today, I’d like to share with you these Slimline “Thanks & Thinking of You” cards that, I’ve creating with Sketched Flower Stamp Set and Delicate Flowers Stamp Set which are 2 of my most favorite stamp sets by Simon Says Stamp. So, without further ado let’s jump to the step by step on how-to-make these cards ↓

To begin with, I started by placing one of my Strathmore Watercolor Cards inside my stamping tool. Next, I placed over the card base a bit offset (to the left side) the floral image from the Sketched Flower Stamp Set and I stampeded the image with Detail Black Ink.

Once, I had the stamping done I waited a few minutes to let the ink dry so, soon after my stamping was completely dry, I water-colored the stampeded floral image with a mix of Purple-Brown, Peachy-Pink, Light-Pink and Green hues that I mixed using my Derwent Watercolor Paint Set.

Therefore, after the water-coloring was done, I covered the flowers, leaves and berries with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen for a touch of shimmer then, I added a few highlights using a white gel pen.

Lastly, I placed once again the card base inside the stamping tool and, I stampeded with black ink a sentiment included in the stamp set on the lower right side on the card.

Although, I used a watercolor card base too for the second card, I ended up stamping on a separate watercolor cardstock piece the Flowers and Leaves from the Delicate Flowers Stamp Set. So, after stamping the flowers and leaves from the stamp set with black ink, I water-colored each of them with the leftover watercolor mixing from the previous water-coloring.

Once, I had the water-coloring done and the images were completely dry, I ran through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine each of the water-colored images along with their coordinated dies to die-cut them out of the watercolor cardstock.

Moving on, after the die-cutting process, I created a gold frame over the card base using a Gold gel pen and a ruler. To do that, I left 1/4’’ space from the outer edge from the card base. Once, I had the frame traced over the card base, I created a cluster with all the die-cutting pieces so, after I had each of them into place, I glued down some of them with liquid glue while, I mounted others with foam mounting tape to create dimension in between them.

Lastly, after the cluster was mounted to the card base, I covered the leaves and flowers using my Aqua Shimmer Pen once again, and I added highlights as shown in the images above with a white gel pen.

Finally, to finish the card off, I stamped a sentiment on the lower right side of the card a sentiment from the same stamp set with black ink.

To finish both cards off, I added Glossy Accent to the berries, each center from the flowers and white highlights to make them stand out with a glossy look. And… last but certainly not least, I glued down with liquid glue gold jewels here and there for an extra touch of sparkle!
