Shadow Box & Floral Wreath┃Inspiration Card

Happy Wednesday, Friends! In today’s blog post, I’d like to share a dimensional inspirational card made with a “Shadow Box & Floral Wreath” look using the just released Around the Shape: Circles stampCircle Florals Stamp SetCircle- Florals Stencils, and Circle Florals Die. Along with those sets, I also used Nested Circles Hot Foil with a combination of Nested Circles Die to add the hot foil stamping touch. And, lastly, 1/2 Blending Brush Set1/4 Blending Brush Set, and PFS- Inks to add pops of colors to the floral wreath. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, I placed an A2-size white card panel over the MISTI Mini Stamp Tool. Then, I lined up the floral image from the stamp set over the card panel. Next, I used Magic Powder Bag to remove the static from the cardstock. Followed by that, I used Embossing Ink to get the image stamped over the card panel. Right after I got the stamping step done over the card panel, I carefully removed it from the stamping tool, and then I used Metallic Embossing Powder- Gilded and Wow Dual Speed Heat Tool to add the gold heat embossing step over the stamped image. By the way, the stamp set only includes two floral stamp images, so to create the full wreath effect, I repeated the previous step to create another set of two floral pieces on another A2-size white card panel.

Thus, after getting the heat embossing steps done over both card panels, I used each stencil included in the coordinating stencil set to ink up the flowers and leaves on both panels using both 1/2 Blending Brush Set and 1/4 Blending Brush Set along with the following ink hues; Marigold Ink, Clementine Ink, Persimmon Ink, Grassy Knoll Ink, and Olive Ink.

Thus, after finishing inking up the flowers and leaves on each card panel, I set them aside. Then, I continued to create the shadow box card base. By the way, I’d like to mention that this is a 6x6 size shadow box/card. So, I proceeded to trim down two white cardstock pieces to 6x6 using the Paper Trimmer. Also, I got another cardstock piece trimmed down to 5-1/5 x 5-1/2 inches. Next, after getting those cardstock pieces trimmed down, I trimmed down another large piece of white cardstock piece to W 5.0 x 11-1/2 inches.

Nevertheless, I placed the larger piece of white cardstock with the large side vertically over the Scor-Pal Eighths, and then I used the standard Teflon bone folder included in Craft Treat Teflon Bone Folder to trace some scoring lines over it at 1.0, 1-1/2, 2.0, 3.0, 3-1/2, 4.0. Once I got the scoring lines traced over the cardstock piece, I proceeded to fold them over to create the large paper spring I was planning on using to add dimension. Afterward, I got the paper spring trimmed down into two pieces.

Soon after, I proceeded to get the card base assembled, so to do that, I glued down the paper springs glued down to the front part of one of the 6x6 cardstock pieces edge-to-edge on each side, and I left 1/4 of an inch in the top and lower edges. Next, I added glue to the front part of the paper springs, and then I got the second 6x6 cardstock pieces glued down over them to create the dimensional shadow box base.

At this point, the inking over the card panel was completely dry out, so I used the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine along with the coordinating dies to cut out the floral pieces from the card panels.

Also, after getting the die-cutting process completed, I used two of the hot foil plates from Nested Circles Hot Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform plus a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass to get the hot foil stamped circle effect over a piece of white cardstock. Then, I used the coordinating dies included in Nested Circles Die set to cut the circle frame out from the cardstock piece.

Lastly, I used one of the sentiments included in Around the Shape: Circles stamp to get one of the sentiments stamped and heat embossed inside of the die-cutting and hot foil stamped circle. Also, I used one of the sentiments included in the Circle Florals Stamp Set and its coordinating die included in the Circle Florals Die set to create as well the stamped and heat-embossed die-cutting and dimensional sentiment.

Lastly, to get the wreath assembled, I got the edge of each die-cutting floral image glued down underneath the circle to create the floral wreath underneath it. In the image above, you can take a closer look at how slightly each of the die-cutting images overlaps to add the full effect to the wreath.

Finally, to finish the full card layout, I got the 5-1/2 card panel glued down over the dimensional shadow box base. Next, I mounted the wreath over the front card panel using craft foam adhesive to add dimension. And, last but not least, to finish it off, I got the card sentiment mounted with more craft foam adhesive to add even more dimension right in the center part of the wreath.

By the way, I’m attaching here some images of other cards that I have made with this beautiful set. You can find a detailed tutorial on how I made the A2 size card in this past Monday’s blog post. As for the mini card, I used leftover pieces from today and the last blog post.

And, with that being said, friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this dimensional inspirational card with a “Shadow Box & Floral Wreath” effect and the bonus cards using dies and more by Pinkfresh Studio.
