Pop-Out Folk Christmas┃Inspiration Card

Happy Friday, crafty friends! On today’s blog I’d like to share with you a water-colored/whimsical “Folk Christmas” card made using Pop-Out Folk Christmas Cling Stamp and Pop-Out Folk Christmas Die by Pinkfresh Studio. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I’ve made it ↓

To begin with, I started by placing inside my MISTI Stamping Tool a Fabriano Watercolor panel. Next, I went ahead to line up the Pop-Out Folk Christmas Cling Stamp over it, and once I’ve had them lined up, I’ve gone ahead to stamp the images twice over the card panel using Misty Coast Ink.

So therefore, after I’ve had finished stamping the background image, I’ve removed the card panel from the stamping tool and then, I’ve gone ahead to temporarily tape it down over my Make Art Mini Stay-Tion All-in-One Magnetic Surface.

Moving on, after I’ve had the card panel in place, I went ahead to start the water-coloring. Thus, for the water-coloring I’ve water-colored each image using a combination of cool hues with metallic gold accents using a mixed palette which, I’ve had previously mixed on my mixing palette using a combination of Pinkfresh Watercolor Collection, White Nights Watercolor, Daniel Smith, HWC and, Coliro Metallic Watercolor Palette to add the Gold accents.

So, right after I’ve had the water-coloring done, I’ve gone ahead to set it aside to let it air dry and once it was completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to line up over the water-colored background panel the Pop-Out Folk Christmas Die which it happens to be the coordinated die that die-cut some of the images. Therefore, after I’ve had them line up, I carefully secured them using washitape to avoid any shifting while I was running them through the die-cut machine.

Last and not least, after I’ve had finished die-cutting the card panel, I’ve popped out the die-cut pieces and I’ve removed the washitape so I could take the frame out of the die. That said, after I’ve had the frame out of the die, I’ve gone ahead to glue down with liquid glue the backing of the frame to an A2 side folding white card base. And, once I’ve had the card panel adhered, I’ve gone ahead to inlay some of the images using liquid glue while I’ve gone ahead to pop some back into place using craft foam tape adding that way some dimension.

Finally, after I’ve had finished assembling the card panel, I’ve finish the card off by adding white highlights using a white gel pen and by mounting in the center of the card a sentiment with a strip of craft foam tape. By the way, the sentiment is part of the Oh, What Fun Die-Cuts pack from the Oh, What Fun Collection also by Pinkfresh Studio. Then, as a finishing touch, I’ve gone ahead to glue down jewels from the Essentials: Jewel Mix to add a sparkly touch. So, with that being said, I hope you have enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created this water-colored/whimsical “Folk Christmas” card using stamp and die sets by Pinkfresh Studio.
