Glittery Shine and Bright Greeting Cards

Glittery Shine and Bright Greeting Cards

Happy Valentine’s Day, Friends! Even though, today’s cards aren’t valentines theme, I’d like to share with you these Glittery/Shine and Bright cards that, I’ve create with the new; Large Die of the Month called “Art Studio Abstracts’’ by Spellbinders. If you like abstract designs, I’m sure you’re going to love these dies because, possibilities are endless of what to create with them! So, without further ado, let’s jump into today’s blog ↓

To begin with, I started by creating my own glitter cardstock. To do that, I covered 2-A2 white card panel with Embossing Ink to create a sticky surface. Next, after both card panels were covered with embossing ink, I sprinkled to one of the card panels Peridot and Tanzenite to the other. By the way both glitter embossing powders are from the WOW! Gemstone Trio. Once, both card panels were completely covered with the embossing glitters, I heat set them with my Heat Embossing Gun Tool and I set them aside.

In the meantime, I created the card panel for the first card so, to do that, I placed over a white card panel the 3 dies that create lines, crosses and dots and I ran them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine - 6" Platform. Once, the first die-cutting was done, I repeated this step a few more times until I created my own pattern for the card panel.

Soon after, when the pattern was completed, I adhered the backing of the card panel to an A2 white card panel. This step was not necessary but, I did it this way because, I wanted to trim the edges off from the card panel so, instead of adhering the card panel directly to the card base, I added dimension by foam mounting the backing of the card panel to an A2 top folding white card base.

Lastly, I set the card base aside and I ran though the die-cutting machine the abstract die that looks like a rainbow to die-cut it out from the both glittery card panels that, I created earlier, I’m telling you the sky is the limit when comes to creativity on how to use these abstract dies. So, after both die-cutting were done, I adhered with foam mounting tape a large and a small die-cutting piece from each of the colors to the card (as shown above) Finally, to finish the first card off, I adhered with foam mounting tape 2 sentiments that I had previously foiled on a piece of white cardstock.

For the second card, I ran through the die-cutting machine all the shapes from the set except for the ones that, I used in the previous example to die-cut them out of white cardstock. At first, I was going to create a white on white abstract card panel but then, I decided to add a pop of color.

So, when all die-cutting pieces were done, I adhered them (as shown above) with liquid glue to an A2 size white card panel. As you can see, to add that pop of color, I added the 2 leftover pieces from the previous example on the lower right side of the card. Then, I adhered on 3 different part of the card panel the glittery lines to balance it out. By the way, those were created with one of the dies. Lastly, I trimmed the edges of the card panel off (H 5’’x W3-3/4’’in. to be exact) And, I foam mounted the card panel to an A2 top folding white card base. Finally, to finish the card off, I adhered with foam mounting tape 2 sentiments that, I had previously foiled in a piece of white cardstock.

For my last card, I used the largest rectangle-oval-y abstract die shape to die-cut 3X out of the glitter cardstock because, I wanted to create an impression of color swatches for the card panel. Just like when you do watercolor swatches but, instead I made them glittery die-cutting pieces.

So, once I had the 3 die-cutting pieces, I foam mounted them to a white card panel which soon after, I trimmed, and foam mounted it to an A2 top folding white card base. Finally, to finish the card off, I adhered a sentiment and today’s cards were finally done.

I would like to mention that, all foiled sentiments were from the same set. The set that, I used was; Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, and the glimmer foil color that I used was; Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Champagne. Along with these 2, I also used the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform.

As a finishing touch, I couldn’t leave the sparkles out so, I adhered to each of the cards some of the Crystal Confetti for an extra sparkly look. YAY!!! If you made it to the end!
