Cloud Builder┃Inspiration Card

Happy Monday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a “Sympathy” inspiration card and matching tag/bookmark with a colorful touch to brighten and bring comfort to anyone in need of encouraging words. So therefore, I made it using Cloud Builder Stencil and Essentials: Slim Stitched Scallop Rectangles Die Set along with them, I also used Forever in Our Hearts Stamp Set, Leafy Decor Stamp Set, Leafy Decor Die and Inks by Pinkfresh Studio. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

To begin with, I started by lining up the Cloud Builder Stencil over a half of an 8-1/2’’ x 11.0’’ inches white cardstock sheet. Once, I had both line up, I went ahead to start from bottom to top the ink blending for the colorful cloudy sky using a few ink blending brushes along with the following inks; Sweet Mustard Ink, Passion Fruit Ink, Raspberry Bliss Ink, Candy Violet Inks, Stargazer Ink and Sapphire Ink.

Thus, right after that I’ve had finished the ink blending for the colorful cloudy sky, I went ahead to set off the ink blended sheet to the side to let the inks settle into the paper. Meanwhile, I went ahead to line up the largest die from Essentials: Slim Stitched Scallop Rectangles Die Set over the other half of the white cardstock sheet and once I had them both line up, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die-cut a slimline white scallop frame out of it.

Moving on, as soon as I was done die-cutting the slimline white scallop frame, I went ahead to repeat the same step as I did for the white scallop frame but, this time to die-cut it out of the ink blended cardstock sheet. Therefore, after I had finishing die-cutting the colorful cloudy slimline frame, I went ahead to keep it together and then, I placed it down over my Crafter's Essential Cutting and Alignment Mat to get the assembling for the card started. So, I removed the center die-cutting piece from my white slimline scallop frame and then, I went ahead to mount the outer scallop slimline frame over the colorful card panel using skinny pieces of craft foam tape to add some dimension to it. Lastly, I went ahead to adhered with double-sided tape the slimline card panel to a slimline white card base and then, I went ahead to embellish it by gluing down with liquid glue a leafy cluster which I’ve had previously stamp and white heat embossing over a piece of translucent vellum using Leafy Decor Stamp Set, Leafy Decor Die and Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Finally, I’ve gotten mounted the sentiment with craft foam tape and then I finished the card by gluing down with liquid glue some of the Yellow, Pink, Purple and Blue jewels from Essentials: Jewel Mix to add a extra touch of Shine!

As for the tag/bookmark, I kept it simple by using the left over edge from the colorful ink blend cloudy sky sheet as well as the smaller die from Essentials: Slim Stitched Scallop Rectangles Die Set which I used to die-cut the scallop white frame just like I did for the card.

To assembled it, I went ahead to trim off the edges from heavy weight white cardstock to H 6-7/8’’ x W 1-7/8’’ inches then, I placed it over my scoring board, and I went ahead to score a line to 1/2 of an inch mark. Once, I had the scoring line marked over the slim white cardstock piece, I went ahead to folded it over creating that way a hinge for the tag/bookmark could open and close once I’ve got it adhered to the slim ink blended cardstock with a strip of double-side tape.

Lastly, right after that I had finished that step done, I went ahead to embellish it in the same way as I did for its coordinating slimline card. Then, as finishing touches, I went ahead to use my WRMK Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole on which I tied a piece of lace ribbon and to finish it off, I went ahead to mount the sentiment with craft foam tape to add a bit of dimension. By the way, for both sentiments I've used Forever in Our Hearts Stamp Set and Metallic Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder.
